• Inducements may be purchased during team creation, including 0-2 Star Players, but this excludes Wizards, Special Play Cards, and Unlimited Mercenaries. Inducements bought in this way are considered a permanent part of the team and can be used each game. Opposing teams may have the same Star Player.
Special Tournament Rules
Each coach receives a coaster that has a dark side and a light side. The dark side of the coaster is used during the first half of the game.
If, during the first half, a player on either team is removed as a casualty for any reason, at half-time turn the coaster over so that the brightly lit side is showing. For the duration of the second half, the weather condition in effect will be Sweltering Heat, as the temperature rises and the conditions become more hellish. These effects replace normal weather conditions for the duration of the second half, and if a Changing Weather result is rolled on the Kick-off table at any time during the second half, the ball will simply scatter one extra square in a random direction before landing and bouncing.
If, however, no blood has been spilled on the pitch at all during the first half in the form of Casualties being caused for any reason, the Chaos gods are displeased, as are the fans. Before rolling on the Kick-off table, roll a D6. If the result is a 1, do not roll on the Kick-off table. Instead, roll another D6. On a 1, resolve a Get the Ref result; on a 2-3, resolve a Riot result; on a 4-5, resolve a Throw a Rock result; on a 6, resolve a Pitch Invasion result.
Pairing and Scoring
Opponents will be selected randomly for Round 1. Rounds 2 & 3 will be selected using the Swiss pairing system (most points vs. most point, lowest points vs. lowest points, etc.). Coaches are awarded points based on the following:
