Do you use it, is it practical at all?

Found it on a forum by chance looking for football field images.

Jackolas wrote:As far as I'm concerned any figures/Lego/counters are fine. We are all here because we like playing bloodbowl. If someone doesn't want to sit down and paint figures, then it's incredibly harsh for people like heff to complaint about it.
Harragouk has done something unique to represent teams that he likes to use. I would rather play against them instead of a team that's just going to be in primer for ever.
The real question is "What is it about them that means you wouldn't like to play against them long term?" Of course assuming the the models are representational of the players (i.e. My Vamps or Necros photo'd in this thread)DixonCider wrote:Lego blood bowl seems a little odd. It is easy to create subtleties with the lego as well. If my bases were more unique would that make them okay?mattwhile wrote:It's alright if you're the only one, but what if someone turned up with identical pieces and you couldn't tell the difference between teams? Even with similar paintjobs on identical models you can normally tell the difference, maybe only because of style of basing or colour of boots etc.
Why should I do something I don't enjoy just to play a game that I do enjoy? I will hands down say taht my lego necro team looks better and more cohesive than the Orcs that I played with for 2 years. Because I don't like the modeling side of the hobby I shouldn't have a team that looks nice/good/cohesive or should pay someone to do the part that I don't like?mattwhile wrote:It also looks like a shortcut, when there are probably others playing who dislike the hobby side of BloodBowl but will either muddle through or get a mate to paint them.
I had my "Proper" vamp team before my lego team, initially I was using the lego to proxy for the missing vamps (As they are all unique from different companies) I got someone to paint it because my Orcs that I used/painted for 2 years never got finished (And probably wouldn't be allowed into a tournament as they may not count as "Painted" 3 colours is the minimum I recall?).mattwhile wrote:It's weird that I've only seen you use your 'proper' Vamp team in the league, that you got someone to paint, rather than the Lego......
size, weight, the fact it takes a little more commitment to paint a mini then just buy a few lego figures, and yes they do look cheap.harroguk wrote:The real question is "What is it about them that means you wouldn't like to play against them long term?" Is it that they are Toys? We all play with Toys.
Is it that they look cheap? I can assure you that they are not.
Is it cause they aren't "painted"? I hate painting, I play for the game, not the modeling.
I am struggling to find a "real" reason short of "x person just doesnt like them." does that mean that if I don't like Shadowforge mini's I should ban them from tournaments?
But they can be painted nicely to make them appear much better.harroguk wrote:Looking Cheap - Are the Humans and Orcs that come in the boxed set banned? They look pretty cheap too.
