So what we're basically saying is:-
A leaping over X
567
3X4
1A2
For A to land in 3,4,5,6,7 is correct and right,
For A to land in 1or 2 is cheesy but legal.
There's some damn sneaky players out there.......can you teach me?

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

Olympic High Jump: they use poles, Wardancers don't (at least I don't see a pole in this guy's hands
)
Further more, I think the word "over" is pretty much showing what was intended with Leap, even if the description further on it says you can move to ANY adjacent square.
Last note: even in this fantasy world, normal rules of nature apply (or don't they?). I've never seen anyone make a jump forward, than back up as he moved in the air. Imho, it just doesn't feel right.

That's pole jumping Galak. High jumpers don't use polls.
Remko: i could make such a jump easily. My feet would pass over a square that could be drawn in front of me, but i'd still land just left or right of where i started. There's just no way i can leap over a treeman though. So you see, this is MUCH easier to do than some other regular moves in the game.

Hmmmm, not happy about this! The key wording for me is "over an occupied square". If someone pulled zombies tactic on me at a tourney I would certainly get a clarified ruling from the tourny organisers there and then.
I think this is in need of clearing up with the BBRC.

Longfang .... where are you reading over an occupied square .. the exact text says:longfang wrote:Hmmmm, not happy about this! The key wording for me is "over an occupied square". "A player with the Leap skill is allowed to jump over an
adjacent square, even if it is occupied by a knocked over or
standing player from either team."
Adjacent not Occupied. And if you want to burn 2 MA to move 1 square with a straight AG skill roll that you can only use once ... I really don't see the problem.
I don't think this really need clarification ... but I'll add it to the list to keep peace.

I don't think there's any cheese going on here at all, the rules clearly state how leap is to be used. Using leap to avoid making a dodge is perfectly legitimate if you ask me. You burn 2 MA and use your leap skill for the action, I do it quite often with woodelves. n terms of flavour I just think of it as an acrobatic dodgelongfang wrote:We all know that the exact wording often leaves a lot of questions and often leads to a lot of rule bending by those willing to exploit them. To leap using 2 points of movement to an adjacent square (maybe because the die role required wil be less than a dodge roll) is exploiting the wording of the rules, so if you want to be a devious player (CHEAT) carry on. If you leap it should be directly over an occupied square. The rules say OVER which in my mind would put you two squares away from your starting square.
Just because it's used in a way you don't expect doesn't mean it's used incorrectly. The rules quite clearly state what valid squares may be leaped to.
