My witchelfs first advancement
I scored a 10 (6+4) for my witchelfs first advancement! Should I give her the bonus movement or block???

I'm no expert on Dark elves but I would think it depends on how you want to develop your WE. If you fancy a receiver-type then the extra MA might be useful. You can always take block on the next roll.
there is another thread on this board about how people choose to use their WE, might be worth a look for some inspiration.

I think I'd also take the MA. Give her Block next. She can then blitz someone off the edge of the pitch starting from the middle of the board and still have a square of movement left to step away from the side having followed up.

I definitely advise you to take the +1ma. Witch elves can make very effective 'shock' catchers. Frenzy works well to help them force themselves a way out of a scrum and score, after having been surrounded by the opponents while being in their half.
Block, catch and nerves of steel (if you have the luck to roll a double) would work very well in that scheme of things.

I dislike teams all with uniform skills so I would keep the movement.
Develop this witch as a ball player, either sure hands or catch and then block. 2nd witch go for block stripball sidestep, as a blitzing safty. If you like diversity keep the MA as it has many uses in a slow passing team.

I've got two DE with MA8 (a welf and a blitzer). They're both really handy, either as a breakaway receiver (jump up makes her a threat even when she's down) or as a strong safety. On D, I keep the witch elf back behind the line to hit anybody who tries to make for the end zone. Helps that the witch is also ST4. I'd definitely go for the MA increase from 7->8. On a line elf, no I'd take the advance, and on a thrower, maybe. Remember how many times moving that one more square is the difference between a long pass and a long bomb?

It depends on your league, but 8/10 times I would take the Block. You want to go one faster? Go For it. Don't get me wrong, speed is good but this a player that starts with jump up.
Witch Elves need block. After that they get skills that allow them to do cool things. What happens if you get 11, 12, or Doubles next skill? That is a long time without block. If the 2nd time round is a 10, then maybe IF its not doubles.

If I get a double I would just take block anyway.
If I get 11 I'd turn it down (don't really need AG5) and take block.
If I get 12 you can live without block for a while because you are STRENGTH 4 !!!
Your arguement appears to be don't take the +1 MA now, because then you might have to turn down an increase or a double next time. But the odds are against actually getting the increase later, so I would just take the increase now.
