What give next to my Ogre?

Post by bluetooth »

I was thinking, what to give next to my ogre. If I get double, I give him pass. Otherwise PO? Tackle? Guard?

Have to be honest and say that I haven't much experience of managing Ogre teams.

However, giving one of the raving big sods guard is indeed a very annoying thought.

How's the team playing at the mo?

I like to try different tactics, but so far most of the touchdowns have been runs inside a cage. I simply love TTM. Leader made a big difference, but pass would make it a real threat.

First I tried a lot passing play, but for some reason it didn't work for me.
Trying to get into passing play again, too.

How about Break Tackle for dodging out for that important TTM

With all that Guard already you don't really need another one.

I'd take Pro (for reliability) or Piling On (for damage).

On a double Frenzy is very nice, but pass works if you are determined to get that TTM working.

Since PO is going to be changed for certain in the near future, I'd probably take either Tackle or Pro, depending on how many Elf/Amazon teams you have in your league.

I´d go for Piling on. It gives you so much faster SPP and even after the change it´ll be a quite good skill. Third skill than would be tackle or break tackle.

i think i would be drawn to pilling on to get those spp's

however pro is another thought as you do not get access to team RR's or you could go for leader as you can use that for your ogre too...

I haven't ever had a more useful ogre than the ones who get Block, followed by break tackle. Piling On is ok but really turns them into 1 dimensional hitting machines.

Think about this. Block, Break Tackle, Pro (mayeb use leader for him til he gets Pro)
A hand off to an Ogre is 4+. Difficult if the dice are against you but if it worked you'd have an MA 5 ST 5 AG 5 Block player with the ball rumbling towards the endzone. A couple guarders beside him and whammo!
I'm not suggesting he be your 'go to guy' as a ball carrier but he'd sure be a lot of fun when he did have it.
And those skills would work decently for him as a blitzer too.

Who, even with pro, wont move 10% of the time. Also he'll still fail 1/6 dodges - without a chance of a team reroll.

I think you missed the part where I said he wouldn't be my go to guy. I said he would be something fun to do when either you were desperate or way ahead in the game.
