Getting it on an elf team is certainly great... I got it on an unskilled skeleton on the Tomb Raiders once - and got no money, unsurprisingly.

I'm pretty pleased that I got a TD with him, though was sort of hoping I might get some completions with him too. Never mind, can't really complain about free money can you?

Ouch... I got called for Illegal Procedure on my very first turn. In all my PBEM games, I've never been called for it. I'm going to have to pay much more attention to my current game.

BTW, Martyn thrashed me with his elves as well last season. Me thinks he greatly underestimates his abilities.

Or the MBBL. Since your OPPONENT is supposed to click your turn marker ... its a little difficult for him to declare an IP for HIS mistake ...

Now if you forgot to press it at the start of your turn after a kick-off. You are a bonehead ... pay more attention .. and carry on .. there are no IPs in PBeM ... or at least in any of the leagues that I play in or commish.

The PBeMBBL USED to have IPs ... but now that I'm a rules commish there ... don't expect that leagues old rule on this matter to last more than 5 seconds if someone asks. IPs are for tabletop to keep the game correctly timed. IPs have no place in PBeM as they don't work well with the format of the game.

DOH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :o

It was my mistake because it was following a "Perfect Defense" kickoff result and I was receiving. I had a great opening round where I killed one and secured/advanced the ball. Forturnately, my opponent couldn't do a whole lot other than lay a TZ on the ball, but I blitzed him off and then secured the ball. We're in turn 3 now so it's hard to go back.

Damn Riot!! :pissed:

Start of the 2nd half, and the elementalists only have 6 players on the pitch. My Fimir would knock them down, tie them up with the tails and grind their way downfield for the go-ahead TD.

Opening kick-off - RIOT! Lose 5 turns. I can score (just), but I have to make a GFI every turn, I only have 2 RR total, and I've had to use one already.

This after failing to score in the 1st half cos of a blown GFI.

My FU got screwed by a riot as well this game, just could not pull off a td quick enough. Lost 1-0. Won in casualties 2-0 tho. Lucky sob made a td by rolling a 6 for ttm, had put some pressure on both the gobbo and the ball, but he pushed it aside without trouble.

I managed to score (just) in the last turn of the game.

The fans were really rowdy for this one, with a pitch invasion and riot.

Ah well, must get on with post game.

Well, the second half is just about to start in the Raidahz/Beefcake's Sword of Chaos clash. 1-0 to BCS at half, and they are really giving it to my elfy orcs. At one point, all the orcs were prone or stunned. The Deamon Khorne side's Bloodthirster, Beefcake, is generally having his way on the pitch, scoring the only touchdown so far. Raidahz show their elfish propensity in other ways, however. Team Captain and starting Chukka Ishwurtz Strongclaw has used his superior agility well, hitting two passes. Raidahz almost evened the score at half, when one of the linemen dodged away from his marker, and blitzed a Chaos Warrior off of a Raidahz Blitzer who was within scoring range (all this without a re-roll). Strongclaw seized his chance, rushed to the LoS, went for it once to get within short passing range, and fired a dart to the blitzer, who caught it, and turned upfield in the open...where his true orc blood comes through as he falls flat on his petard in the end zone, needing only 1 GFI in the 8th turn to even things up by the half term whistle. Unfortunately, the the big thirster is back on the pitch at half, and this raidahz fan thinks the club could be headed for its second (and final?) consecutive losing season. It's been fun though, having an AG orc trowa. Too bad dey can't hit no one. :smoking:

It looks like Martyn will win as he is leading 2-1 have the ball and i have 1 turn left.
Tried to take down some elves with my falling boulder but so far the old fashion way of beating them up have seemed more effective.

Martyn won 3-1 in the end.
But i felt the game was closer than that. Had i just been luckier with my blocks i would have caused more injuries than 2.
At least i got rich from this game and managed to get myself a Stone Troll and 3 skill rolls.

PS. I think the new handicap table does even out the teams as i did not get run over as i thought i would and i only lost because i could not succeed with any pass or blocks.
My only td came after he also had bad luck (rolled a 1 on a pick up)

Oh I agree. But I think close games can often finish 3-1, especially with elves involved. You just need one dice roll to go wrong and an elf team can swoop on the ball and score. If the dice roll hadn't gone like that the score would be 2-2.

I didn't quite roll enough money to buy a spellcaster, so I bought an assistant coach (to go with the niggled Phoenix Warrior I retired) and saved 100k to put towards the spellcaster next time.

My second PW gained a skill, so I took Accurate, and so he is now my main PW to replace the niggled one.

Well the Dynamo's impressive winning run has come to an end.

Only lost 1-0 to Animal House and managed to replace the Dead Chaos Dwarf Blocker killed in turn 1.

A game though i'll soon forget, Double Skulls, and 1's ruined it, and virtually every one die block was a skull.

Animal House never failed a single GFI, from the Blitzing Mummies, and in the second half i was looking good to equalize, until my Bull Centaur ( Non Ball carrier failed his GFI with Sure Feet ( Not the first time either ).
Then Brian Pulled out a card which allowed two blitzes. :pissed:

When you are already approx 50 diff in team rating and the handicap cards are useless, when the higher rated team pulls out a card like that its a killer. :( .

Cant complain too much though Dangerous Dave had a similar experience with the 1's and skulls in a previous round against me, so what goes around comes around.

But the cards :pissed:

Was the card via the "Elf" spell caster?

Its at times like this that when you are glad the cards are largely gone - well at least I am anyway.

Well both teams only have 1 turn left so its essentially over. The Demon Spawn win their 2nd game. With a final score of 1-0, the score coming in the 7th turn of the 2nd half, the Demon Spawn finally win a second game. Casualties were 5-1 in favor of the DS,which combined with the Crusaders missing 4 from last game, definately had impact. The DS team is stoked for endgame which will see both WA's getting their first advances, along with the teams passer, if not someone who gets the mvp.
