On wednesday I'll get the accomodation confirmation. It's in an Irish bar, in the city center and will most probably cost nothing (they only want us to buy our drinks there). It's a great looking small library in the back of the pub, which can be sealed from the rest of the pub. I think it looks superb and can perfectly house 12-14 players. More info to follow.

Gidday chaps,

If there are still any places left, this New Zealander (living in the UK) will take one. I've been away for a few weeks (damn training course for work) so if I've missed my opportunity - so be it. I'll send Norse an email as well as requested back on page 1.

Thanks Chap, was up north (Manchester) for a few weeks looking at a new piece of hardware my employer is thinking of adding to our product range. Pretty cool stuff but of no interest here. I'm rather interested in a certain weekend in Amsterdam though.

The Irish pub unfortunately bounced. They argued that in the summertime, the pub is constanly filled with people eating dinners, lunches etc etc. I couldn't convince them that if we would eat there as well (breakfast that is, which is pretty good) that that might compensate a little. Also, to make a long story short, they declined. Another Irish pub had the same restrictions, so It will not have an Irish flavour. I do have an alternative, which is less cool, but already assured me we could play there. The tables are a fraction to small, but I hope I can work that out with the management. At least the beer prices are okay 8)

Ashamed I raised hopes :( . I'm still looking for other accomodatons so I'll keep you posted. Now that Spyke has confirmed, Norse and I can't accept anymore people for the tourney. Maybe when a bigger pub/bar has been found, that we might have two more places, but I'll not raise hopes a second time.

Thanks for holding the fort in my absence Lucy. I've had a mail from a guy in Leiden asking to come (some local meat to crush!) so we may be able to up the guest list a bit more if anyone else is interested.

I've heard nothing from the French or Spanish players, so it looks like being a Northern European affair (with a couple of Australasians for good measure...)

Any update on suitable venue Lucy?

Greetings Lucy, Norse and other attendees.
I'm wanting to book flights from London and need to know when to arrive in Amsterdam by to get to the (to be advised) event location or (to be advised) accomodation.
  • At the moment I'm thinking of flying in on Friday and back out on Monday.
  • Will the first games be played on the Friday or will they start on Saturday?
  • I appreciate that you (Lucy & Norse) are trying to find accomodation as well as the venue but at what point will we have think about finding our own place to stay?
Whatever the answers to the above are I'm looking forward to losing to you all
