Yup i saw them, and they are really cool, he really did a good job on them, even if i prefer metal figs over plastics ones, those one are great.

Back to the topic, just my single opinion (btw i ll not participate in the team because of my painting level ;p ) i think skaven and chaos are both good choices because of the variety of the figs you ll have in those two team. 2nd ed skaven have a lot of different linemen, and both of those team can afford great conversion option for the people who want to do some.

the only problem i see with skaven is that thewy have the single big guy, the rat ogre.

I don't see having only one big guy as a negative. I don't think a team should have to rely on big guys for a gaming perspective. Admittedly it will mean a few people might argue over who gets to paint the Rat Ogre but I think it's more of a challenge and much more rewarding to try and make a single normal sized miniature stand out in a team.

It seems people are warming more to the idea of Skaven, I orginally thought there would be a bit of resentment at a Skaven team, but I think the majority seem to like the idea of either Skaven or Chaos...correct or corrong?

I would rather do a "good" team for a change, I would prefer the new elves (can also use 2ed elves as well), but I guess I'm in the minority.

no, where as i may not completely agree with you, i think we should at least wait until pics of these new minis are released before we start dividing up who paints what and so on. also, for the rat ogre, i did mean purely from a painting prespective. chaos has ogres, minitours (*sp?) and greater deamons, all of which i'm sure people out there would love ot contribute, even if they cant all technically be in one line-up. one rat ogre just a minor drawback. and i have a skaven team and feel they more than qualify as a "good" team. they'd do just fine when it comes to being competative.

Let's not forget that ROs can mutate..if more than one person wants to do a RO then there's options, hey a RO with RSF or a Claw would still make an awesome turn counter even if he doesn't make the field..

Foul Appearance is easier to do on Chaos imo, but skaven would suffice. The WHFB skaven ninjas are kind of cute.
But I agree that we could wait a few months before deciding. I guess the 2004 Legacy team only has to be finished before the start of 2005, no need to hurry! 8)

Well, the 2004 might be a bit misleading. I think the goal should be to have the project done about a month before the 2004 Blood Blowl Tournament (which is in April), so the winner could bring the team there.

This would mean if we start in September, there would be half a year to contribute, but then we need a dead hard deadline end of Feb 2004. Or we do the floating deadline, like we say End of Dec. 2003, then extend to Jan 2004, then Feb 2004 :) I'm a friend of the dead hard one, but there always will be badly organised people that start 3 days before the deadline after ignoring the mini for half a year.

If we do Skaven, maybe we could convince Andy to provide us with a Ressurrection Gutterrunner for the project. I guess that would help to motivate some people :) (Traveller, at least. Not that he needs motivation when there's a chance to get more minis and actually get them painted!).

hahahaha, well done, Tim... i´m in ! Where is this Gutterrunner ! And i´m not talking about those 3.ed minis !

Ok, i just post this post to keep informed, too. Just tell me, when, what team and which colors. And i prefer a hard deadline, too. :smoking:

BTW... i got this MOUS shipment (damm, they are fast !) and i just have to collect it from German Parcel. Then i got enough heads for all my orcs. I see " heavy painting "coming the next weeks... :o When i got this shipment, i will tell you if you stuff is in, too.
