yeah. they could just do like the old citadel journal rules did....publish the teams but keep them experimental until enough playtesting is done...just get it out there though. I think the hold back on alot of it is that they don't want to put out teams without minis available for them.

Any suggestion with more than 6 skaven is bad. There should be gobboes on the pitch! Similarily, every suggestion with a skaven runner is bad. The team definitely shouldn't get MA9 players.
With
0-12 gobboes
0-6 skaven linemen
0-1 Big Guy
this team is already looking almost like a goblin+ team. They get ST3 players, after all! And gobboes get mutations! It's not a great team but they're not supposed to be.

Not sure I'd allow mutations on the Goblins. Why would the rats let the green guys anywhere near their precious warpstone?
The goblins would only think it was valuable (in the wrong way) and try and run off with it.

I absolutely love the idea of mutating goblins. It's almost as good a thing as my new epée (FIE Maraging Allstar Super BF with PGBl pistol handle... I'm totally in love. And I recommend switching from women to fencing for every sane man. As every sane woman dates other women, we're left with the insane ones anyhow
And for sane women I recommend changing men to fencing and women if you haven't already).
Just think about how fun that could be, Thadrin! A team with mutating rats and goblins is 2nd ed BB at its best!

I agree about the mutating goblins and the women statement...I don't agree with the "no runners and goblins+" stuff.
I really don't think there's a danger in making a goblins plus type team. If the people who play stunties wanted a decent team there are plenty of alternatives for them to try. Besides, they have been trying to improve stunties for years (and they're starting to succeed!) so I don't see this team as any different than the other crap they get.

Thing is a Goblin+ team is still a Skaven- team so I don't see that a few positional players are a problem.
If we were just adding 6 gobbos to the Skaven roster that would be a different matter.

The short answer is "no", but it is a qualified "no" because there are odd ways of interpreting the question which could justify the answer "yes".

If only we could ... sigh.Dark Lord wrote:If only there was a way to make JJ see that we liked the 2nd edition fluff. Bring back the half orcs, the creepers, the troglodytes, the slann, the centaurs!!!!
Wait a second ... there were never any official Centaurs ...

Anyway ... I think I'd agree to any Creepers team that had mutating Goblins, no more than 6 Skaven (I could care less what position they were), no Big Guys, and 80k rerolls (to represent the infighting).
Going back to DL's roster which was my favorite.
A roster of:
0-10 Goblin 40k with A,M access
0-6 Gutter Runners 80k with G,A,M access
80k rerolls
This team would be fun ... definitely NOT Goblin+ because of the lack of Big Guys and would actually not be entirely 2nd tier as the GRs would provide a valid scoring threat.
Interesting starting roster: 10 Goblins, 1 GR, 7 FF, Apothecary, 5 Rerolls
If you thought Stunty teams got beat senseless .. this team would be a fast graveyard waiting to happen.

No, it really has to have some skaven linemen too. If you insist on having skaven positional players, then make it
0-10 goblins
0-4 skaven linerats
+
0-2 skaven position players (runners, blitzers, throwers)
OR
0-2 gutter runners
0-10 goblins
0-4 skaven linerats
+
0-2 skaven position players (runners, blitzers, throwers)
OR
0-2 gutter runners

Exactly!
I was thinking something like going down in a whirlwind of blood and squishy sounds or lighting up the scoreboard like an old christmas tree.
And never anything in between.
Centaurs weren't official? So long ago...I can't even hardly remember what were optional rules we used from the compendium, what were official rules and what were rules we made up.
The only one I know for sure was our creation was the "sticky bomb". I think we called it "plastic explosives" back then. You rolled to stick it on a player, failure meant it went off in your hand. If you succeeded you rolled a D3 to see how many turns it would be before it blew up.
