A small powerup for humans. Is it needed and is this good?
To me Humans seems to be abit too weak. Not extremly much but enough to be annoying. The main reason for this seems to be their lack of positional players and rather incompetent linemen. Other teams can often either develop their linemen into nasties (Dwarfs, Chaos etc) or got lots of positional players (Undead, Orcs etc) while humans got rather incompetent linemen (only general skills so no guard etc and a massive AV8).
To me their saving grace is their excellent Blitzers and good Throwers. First I thought about 6 Blitzer but that would make Blitzer too common. Then after an American Fotball training it hit me. The humans doesn't have any blockers. My proposal is:
0-2 Human Blockers: 70 000
Ma S Ag Av
5 3 2 8
Skills: Block, Break Tackle.
Skill access: General and strength.
To me these guys would solve alot of issues like having to "waste" guard on my Blitzers and lack of strength in the line.

Blood Bowl game - $60
Cost of a Human Team - $40
The look on your opponents face as his one-turn scorer gets taken down by a thrown rock from the fans – Priceless.

Human team underpowered?
I think the two finalists in the Blood Bowl were human teams...

Humans are quite strong, and very versatile. Their main strength is that they can exploit the opposing team's weakness. I don't see the blocker as a necessary addition to their roster, and I really think that people undervalue Strength skill access. I still don't think Elves with Strength access are balanced.

Agentrock: Come to think of it, the same is true with our league. Movement and ball handling seem to be underrated by a lot of coaches when they compare Orcs against Humans, for some reason. Orcs tend to look like they should just beat the Humans down, but this is often not the case.

And actually Orcs for that matter aren't always the bashy types either...they can play a fast scoring game with the right balance of skills as well.
Probably the reason why both teams were put the the BB bow set!

The end-zone “line of death” does not discriminate when one tempts fate by using a “go for it” to pass over it.

I haven't seen a winning Orc team employ a reliable quick score option. My Orcs have enough trouble, even though they have 3 block dodge orcs, and two of those have 4 agility.
It's too bad you live in the wrong Arlington, Agentrock. I bet we'd have some interesting games.

Don't get me wrong...my orc teams seem to go slow as well. But I've had a coach or two in the league build up a blitzer/passer duo that we a force to watch out for.
And yeah, when I first glanced at your location I thought "cool, a new player" but realized that we're no where near each other when a two a full look at the state.

If the 2 sides fighting it out for this years BB championship camre from a "underpowered" roster, god help the rest of s if they tweaked it up a notch!

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

True to some extent as they have really good stars, but the fact remains that the team is definitely not underpowered.Sushé Wakka wrote:Maybe the fact that they could hire Starplayers for their games helped a little bit...

The problem is that your opponent can exploit the humans lack of strength too. Sure a High Elf team is slightly weaker than a human one due to their lack of Ogre but they are also able to dodge out and thus get assists easier which gives them an edge in the hitting game. A stronger team is able to practically do the same thing by getting a numerical advantage and thus stop human movement by sheer mass. A chance to give the humans a chance in the higher TR rating games (where they start getting issues due to opponents having either a bunch of blodging elfs or guarding Dwarfs). The best way to keep humans competable there too would be non Blitzing guys with Strength skill access but I might be biased due to beating up quite alot of humans on fumbbl.com and not to mention my own adevtures with high TR humansSkummy wrote:Humans are quite strong, and very versatile.
