Got a great idea and/or proposal for BloodBowl?

Why not? Is he currently engaged in some daring genetic experiments?

He wrote up the half orc team. Spectacular team, at that!

It seems like the idea came about not only from Humans needing something non-Ogrish, but from a perceived weakness of the team.

Humans are a solid team. They are cheap enough to start with a varied, skilled roster, agile enough to run up the score against slow opponents, and bashy enough to beat up on speedy opponents.

I rather like my squad I have running right now, too, in the OBL. Personally, I've found that if I can win over half my games with a race, there's nothing that needs fixing on the roster. I've only ever played one race like that and it still didn't convince me they needed fixing.

Let the rosters be!

ehm this one is not about fixing anything.

Humans have the option for an Ogre right now.
This is BORING, everybody has an BORING OGRE.
So the idea is to give the humans their very own "Special Ogre".

Sometimes i really grow desperate here...

But the move is to getting rid of the "Boring" ogre from a gang of teams so hge becomes somewhat less generic. I don't think adding yet another sort of Big Guy is an idea that will ever generate interest...seems like a new rule for the sake of having a new rule to me.

The whole thing of a big guy being a fixed part of a "Full" line up is boring to me, which is the thinking behind my "Big guy occupies a player slot" idea.

I have to agree with Thadrin here. Toby, your idea is a step towards generics, not away. The ogre should be a mainly human big guy. I would like to see it left on the dwarf team unless a suitable replacement is found...and that isn't the deathroller!

In fact, thats what i would like best. Each (but not every) team their special Monster...

Skaven = Rat Ogre
Lizardmen = Kroxigor
Wood Elf = Treeman
Human = Man Ogre
Dwarf = Deathroller
Norse = Barbarian

u get the idea... well flavours are diffrent i guess.

If you're going to go that way, why have the DR as a BG (it's a SW). You've got a man-ogre, why not a dwarf-ogre? See my earlier thread,http://www.talkbloodbowl.com/phpBB2/vie ... php?t=4878

Well, i just love the Deathroller Miniature ist so cool - guess thats why. Sorry but Dwarf-Ogre sounds a little bit alien to me, what about a Cave-Troll ? Something Gold Mine sub terrestial related ;)

C'mon, a cave troll?? You gotta be kidding! Why do you think dwarfs have troll slayers? I don't think the fluff would support a cave troll or any other type of troll on a dwarf team.

Neither do I. However, I sympathise with what you're trying to achieve: making a ruleset that suits to your (and your friends?) playing style, even though I've disagreed with practically every ruling you've come up with.

I'm not very worried that any of your rulings will become official. As an advice, maybe you should advertise your discussions less like "I want this to the LRB" and more like "Our leagues Star Player rules for the next season". At the moment you get a lot of replies that are centered around shooting down your proposal instead of discussing and developing it. And it has a lot to do with the fact that you openly declare them as being something that should be in the LRB.

As you are aware, there is a lot of opposition to your ideas as evident in this thread. Maybe a better route would be discussing about them as house rules and promoting them. Then if people start widely using a part or all of them, you have a good chance of even getting them officialised. But as a one man crusade you couldn't get anything officialised even if you'd be a BBRC member, let alone as a mere TBB member.
