There will probably be an ogre positional

My predictions:

Amazon, norse, vampire, chaos dwarf

Amazon and Norse will come out back to back because they mirror each other so well, it works for marketing and GW has done it before. Vampire because there has been at least one lower tier team every year. Chaos dwarf for something unexpected. Considering how hard GW tried to erase all trace of chaos dwarves it would make a bit of a splash.

Given GW have not amended the number of players from existing positions so far, I'm beginning to think that any new Ogre team positions will be based on Gnoblars (or perhaps a 0-2 Goblin/Halfling).

If they add a new Ogre positional it would imply a team could have 7 may be 8 Big Guys. Obviously they have negatraits, but that seems on the high side to me.

Looking at the Ogre team pictures they released, I'm going to stick my neck out and suggest the Gnoblar with the bottle is going to be a foul specialist, whilst the Gnoblar that looks like it has landed on its backside will be a positional that can be thrown or kicked... [incidentally I'd not clocked it before but I think the gnoblar that is on its backside is the same model that the one Ogre is shaping up to throw...]

As regards whether GW will re-release teams, it does seem they have left that option intentionally. In particular, it would seem an obvious way to put our a Spike! for the initial teams released

That said I suspect the Skaven, Goblin and Elf Union would be harder sells than the Human, Orc and Dwarf which I suspect would be easier to model in a more distinctive style (Dwarf Grudgebearers?) from the original sets (though I reckon an Underworld set with a unifying armour pieces would be very popular)

The Iron Golems warband from Warcry includes a chaos dwarf as will the Spire Tyrants when they come out soon.

I don't recall GW ever trying to erase all trace of Chaos Dwarfs.

As evidence one can simply look at the warbands in Warcry where 2 of 11 released and unreleased warbands include a chaos dwarf.

Might be you're thinking of Squats (although there is a squat for Necromunda now also, which is making that moot also ;))

Chaos Dwarves have lost their pointy hats, but have been in Forgeworld for ages before the latest releases.

I was referring to the mid 00s (WHFB 6th ed. and onward, I think) where chaos dwarves were suddenly scrubbed from the lore. I remember people on fumbbl being afraid that GW would go as far as to take them out of BB as well.

Fortunately CDs have clawed their way back (somewhat at least) and I didn't mean to imply that this was still the strategy of GW (otherwise a chaos dwarf release would be a dumbtemistic guess, even for me). But it could mean that there are still mixed feelings about the little fellows behind the scenes.
That's all.

They weren't scrubbed from the lore, they just didn't get an army book so wasn't a focus of the writing at that time. The old metal range was withdrawn because it wasn't exactly popular, and was later updated by Forge World.

Looks like Special team balls era is ended? The amount of additional content per team is uneven. Stuff like special balls, weather, pitch, cards, star players, (In)Famous Coaching staff, wizards, inducements. Seems like additional content in any category only lasts for so many teams the authors have energy or inspiration for?

updated Warhammer Community page refers to a "Runt Punter"

https://www.warhammer-community.com/201 ... ge-post-3/

Feature on Warhammer TV this week? "If you’re not convinced yet, maybe you should keep an eye out for a rundown of how they play on the pitch, coming up in the next few days."

On the Forge world page it out right states that ogres can kick runts, so I think it's safe to say they are going to have a kicking mechanism of some sort. Is that giving them enoghh to make them interesting and different for people?

my biggest concern about the new ogres is that the new punters are going to be 150k+, any increased cost in the team will likely result in the team being even worse than it was in crp. I assume Kick Team Mate is going to work in the same way as Grak and Crumbleberry, though this may well have been changed, if not, an increased player cost for that skill just isn't godo value. The warhammer community article states the ogres are still 0-6. So no buff there, and I think it is unlikely Titchy will ever return to its former glory.

Not long till we find out though, still looking forward to getting my hands on spike, the pitch, the models etc... as ever.

Also still no word of Treemen or a Krox model though, which is a shame.

I hope it's not a positional and just an extra skill on all the ogres (at no cost), similar to timber. Looking over the Grak rules, sacrificing a blitz to kick (and probably kill a runt) seems of questionable valuble.

I mean to be honest just reducing the cost of re-rolls to 60k would be nice. Hell, even if you did that and reduced ogres to 130k the team would still be bottom tier.

Fingers crossed Ogres get a little boost, that actually makes them more interesting and slightly less terrible.
