I'm surprised that roster didn't get more popular, with loads of Elf-hindering Prehensile Tail skills.
I don't see the suprise here - BB is, after all, a game set in a somewhat coherent universe, regarding lore and races. But things like that could be fit in easy with a chaosthemed team.
Snakemen are part of the Blood Bowl universe canon and have been since 2nd edition. They also have some Snakemen teams names in the edition. I included all of this is information on the web page I wrote in that link above ^. They are a Chaos race, and snakemen used to play for the Chaos All Stars as well as having their own team back in the day.

That said I don't think Snakemen would be high in a list of new teams to be added. There are far more well known races out there, like Savage Orcs etc...

It wasn't that I was surprised that there are Snakemen in the GW Universe or that it would be amazing that they appear. I was a longtime D&D player way before Blood Bowl, so I'm used to all kinds of bizarre races and even making up our own. I am more surprised on the stats, as they appear to be designed as 'Elf Killers'. It can be hard to counter a super agile team at times, and the Snakemen appear to be designed to do that. So, my surprise is that they wouldn't be more popular and something along that line (could have been Squidmen even) got introduced to Blood Bowl.

Garion, I'll go reread your write-up on Fumbbl. I'm not sure if you're saying there was a Snakemen roster in 2nd edition or they are just mentioned in the fluff? I didn't start until around 3rd/CRP, so I'm pretty ignorant of anything before.

Mainly I see the same 'Bash vs Finesse' teams in Blood Bowl and they tend to use the same strategies over and over because they work. But I can't help wonder about what new teams might add and maybe shake things up a bit. Hopefully not being horribly overpowered or underwhelming.

DinoTitanedition - I had asked about a 'Good Chaos Renegades' team at one point. I think someone told me of one with Halflings, Humans, etc. I forgot the name. But I agree, from a painting/assembly stand point, those are very fun to build.

There are heroes of law ^
Or a Tilean roster in the secret league pages linked earlier.

That's like two years I suppose. To me 2016 still kind of feels like yesterday, when BB rereleased. What will happen after that? Restarting the cycle with new sculpts for each team? Completely new rosters? 3D fields and accessories?

I'm just crusious - what's after that? I mean, it's not that we're kind of limitless with this game, right?
Maybe after all the teams are done they'll pull a WHFB? Destroy the BB world and replace it with a twisted version of the AoS world. That way they could keep the old teams and then start adding new ones based on the AoS range.

Lots of cool possibilities for Stormcast, bloodreaver, Idoneth, Kharadron and bonereaper teams.

Oh please no. Sigmarines should not be playing blood bowl. There is plenty of unexplored room in the Warhammer world as the secret league shows. If they go for AOS style fluff they will also have to kill off teams like Khemri.

That end times fluff was just bad. No need to repeat the mistake in blood bowl. Blood Bowl has its own fluff. Why ruin it?

Spubba is painting it a bit black here I feel, but please...let's not start another AoS discussion here. Not. Again.

It was a fummble link, so I didn't expect to see something there and didn't click on it at first. I've read through it now and...well the lore is VERY thin on that topic and quite a bit old. Though BB did a good job since 2016 to combine some of the older stuff with new flair. As a team they don't feel right to me, but if it has to be another Chaosteam, I could imagine one or two being included with some other exotics, like Fimir. Other that that, after googling some pictures, this guy

https://www.games-workshop.com/de-DE/Ss ... Dark-Eldar

might be a great substitute for a blocker or a big guy.

Garion - Thanks again, it was "Heroes of Law" that I was thinking of. Halflings, Dwarves, Elves, Human, and a Treeman. Could be interesting. Maybe with a full line of Halflings as lineman.

DinoTitanedition - I'm guessing the Snakemen team doesn't feel right to you, because of the lore/fluff? That is a good mini suggestion. I would probably look to D&D and other lines, as it's easy to find other snake men in Fantasy games. Though if GW officially published the team, then I'm sure we would get some very cool minis that looked closer to Football costumes.

DinoTitanedition - I'm guessing the Snakemen team doesn't feel right to you, because of the lore/fluff?
Nah, it's more of an optical thing. Maybe it's just me, but the feeling of movement speed is bit defined by "legs on the miniature". In Dreadball there is the Tsudochan Team (https://www.manticgames.com/games/dread ... chan-team/) and it's kind of the same thing. I just can't believe they`re really moving. It's also a bit of the visual connection to the real football picture, where through certain movements (high jumps into the air to grab a ball, hurdling ofer an opponent, grabbing a leg and so on) the feeling of dynamics is created.

I can see a snakeman more as a supporting positional, than a whole team. Another thing is, that a whole team of them would look a bit dull. I never like it, when teams mostly look like one or two positionals (lizardmen...). There has to be some variety to ignite the optic flavour for me.

First off, THANK whomever decided to switch back to the hinged lid on the Team Card Packs. Seriously, BIG THANKS! I picked up the Goblin Team card pack the other day, and the way they are tucked in with the flaps is almost impossible to open. Sure enough, I ripped the top while opening it. Just got the Lizardmen Team Card pack today, and so glad it's back to the flip open lids! Stay the course on that one, please!

DinoTitanedition - got it. Snakes can move pretty fast, but it'd be hard to imagine snakes with human upper torsos moving that fast and leaping over things. So yea, I can see that. I think visually, they could be a bit different. Make some with Cobra heads or different varieties, and painters can use the wide variety of snake color patterns to further differentiate. Sure, it's not going to be like some other teams, but you could get more variety than a Halfling team at least.

@cardpacks, I only have the Hall of Fame card pack and the ones from the starter box. I really like the cards, but they're a bit on the expensive side, so I didn't look for more of them.
Snakes can move pretty fast
I know they can, but that's usually in water or when attacking (before the strike or a short chase). Most of the time you see them like this

Oh, come on now. That's when they are on the sidelines (or in cold weather, haha)!

Just dawned on me that we might seeing an Ogre Spike! I hadn't really thought of that, and I've actually never played that team. Will be interesting to read the lore on that one.

I've played an Ogre team once, and if you're trying to play it seriously, it's a chore  Nevertheless, playing without care, makes it quite fun. It's more of a painting project than a playing project to me.

JTY...how can I bribe you to include 0-4 Gobbos as valid selection for Ogres? Makes the team a lot more colorful and the booster is already there...

Could you guys see GW putting out new minis for existing teams once the current cycle is over?
I mean, they don't sell human and orc teams. They sell Reikland Reavers and Gouged Eye teams.
Could you see them putting diesel punk Dwarf Warhammers and goth Albion Assassins? Clan Skyre inspired Warpfire Wanderers?
I wouldn't mind but I don't know if in makes business sense.

I wonder if ogres will see any changes if any. I quite liked the Halfling changes. Something that makes the team a little more interesting/viable whilst still keeping them in the lower tier.
