CRP (so no Pact, Slann or Underworld iirc).

Asked about bases sizes (only) on the FB page, and whoever is answering it "thinks" they're on 32mm bases.TheDancingClown wrote:That clears that up thenBabs wrote:Official evidence that they may well be

So what will we find out exactly? Current rules, current field, that's all I get out of that so far.sann0638 wrote:Correct.

Re: Close up pic of a painted new Orc Thrower
I *think* Sann means they're printing/printed 100 of the new pitch for their event, so we'll find out more then.
Given their apparent lack of understanding of the rules (the events team) then *if* the pitch has changed in ways other than the size they've probably missed it (which should be fun for those attending

Non compatible board (num squares and mm) would mean it's not really current CRP. And printing CRP boards (maybe different artwork) is perfectly viable with new box having a different board.
So all I know is we don't know, short or mid term, and some "deductions" are more like wishes. And people that should know, maybe don't either. *shrug*

We know there's a new board, they've shown some of the artwork for it (without the grid overlay), it's just the size of the pitch (in terms of square size and/or number of squares) that they won't say.

AFAIK There is no scale in mm specified in CRP.Steam Ball wrote:Non compatible board (num squares and mm) would mean it's not really current CRP.

Out of the loop for a coupl of months, than this happens !
I am still catching up and havn't seen anything else than the orc on page 1.... What to say but that I'm hugely underwhelmed. This looks so much like the dozens of conversions of WHFB or 40 K mini's I've seen since beginning of 2000.
Making the best miniatures ? Surely not. I Just hope they will do as much updating to our beloved game.

No, there is no such number in the text. Neither number of squares is explicitly declared (at best you get a picture of half pitch). The numbers are implicit for CRP as it is to be played with the board and ruler sold up to some years ago (yes, I know about 40mm boards, interceptions must use table... which is not in CRP, or a scaled up ruler ratio 40/29).rolo wrote:AFAIK There is no scale in mm specified in CRP.Steam Ball wrote:Non compatible board (num squares and mm) would mean it's not really current CRP.

Here is something about base size from their facebook page:

That doesn't sound good... Not at all!

Re: Close up pic of a painted new Orc Thrower
Eight pages, over 100 posts and really all the community can do is bitch and moan about the board size *MAYBE* being a bit bigger (we have zero evidence to support it) or miniatures *MAYBE* being on bigger bases.. If this is the state of the community now, god forbid what it'll be when actual details of Blood Bowl 2017 come out, I can imagine the uproar that'll happen when Goblins are a slightly different hue of green.. christ..
Honestly, *IF* the boards are bigger, then use the old 3rd edition boards, I'm sure there will be lots out there and doubt the pitch squares will change much and *IF* the miniatures are bigger, then what does it matter if your own team is the same size? No-one bitched this much when the 3rd edition models came out and dwarfed the 2nd edition ones. "OMG I can't use my 2nd edition models on the astrogranite pitch because it's a new pitch and the new models are a bit bigger..." said no-one.. ever.
This is why we don't get nice things, because the community devotes over 100 posts to complain about shit that doesn't matter a toss.

Because both editions used 28mm scale. There are plenty of people who still use second edition figures in 2016.Ithilkir wrote:"OMG I can't use my 2nd edition models on the astrogranite pitch because it's a new pitch and the new models are a bit bigger..." said no-one.. ever.
You could argue that Blood Bowl itself doesn't matter. Grown adults and teenagers sitting at a table making models play football, that's a pretty silly concept. This is why we don't get nice things, because the community devotes over 100 posts to complain about shit that doesn't matter a toss.
And yet thousands of people still play it. Because we like the game, and enough of our friends enjoy it that we can continue playing it.
Blood Bowl matters to people on this forum. I don't think it's irrational when a company with a terrible track record of ruining their games suddenly steps back into Blood Bowl after a decade and a half of pretending it doesn't exist. Maybe they'll knock it out of the park. Maybe it'll be terrible. We'll see.
We already have a nice thing.

Which only works *IF* they haven't changed the number of squares, which is something they can't or won't confirm.Ithilkir wrote:Honestly, *IF* the boards are bigger, then use the old 3rd edition boards,
Of course people are concerned - there is minimal information available, what little we do have seems to suggest at the very least a scale change, that may or may not make existing pitches obsolete, and may or may not make people figure collections feel "out-of-scale", and GW can't or won't (either not allowed to or because it's not decided yet) clear up even basic questions like base and square size, let alone discuss any rule changes. Sure, it might just be a new board which is bigger in scale but the same size in game play, but it can just as easily be a whole new board with a new number of squares and a completely new rule set.
