Great pics, Steam Ball. Thanks.

I am hoping that the new field with larger squares will simply have less of them.
The actual dimensions would fill the same tabletop area by just removing a column here and a row there.
Somewhere between a reg field and a B7s style. Does that make sense?
Just my own thoughts, I have not read anything towards this. Dreaming my own little dream.

Cheers,
-Dan

Anyone ever thought about these sculpts being prototypes, probably 3D printed a bit larger?
Mass production could then easily have smaller models.

With todays CAD modeling, this shouldn't be any problem, I think.
What makes me think that is the fact that the human would be a giant, compared to the orcs.
Think about the difference in WHFB, when you compare humans to orcs.

I'm just crossing my fingers that I'm right.

Well the new "Orruks" on the GW website consist of Ardboyz which are repackaged black orcs on 32mm bases and Brutes on 40mm bases.

The Brutes do bear quite a resemblance to the new Blood Bowl orcs so it may be the case that we see them on at least 32mm bases.

new rules!

no players allowed to be adjacent to each other but we keep the 29mm squares!

a 25mm square base is actually wider corner-to-corner than a 32mm round base, while still easily fitting in a 29mm Blood Bowl square. FWIW.

Well, as you don't place the players on a square base in a square diagonally...
Probably worth nothing? :orc:

A lot of figures can work while mounted semi diagonally on square bases. Especially if the figure's head is at an angle, when you mount it so that the head is facing forward, one foot will be ahead of the other. It can look awkward but it's a way to get oversize models onto a standard Blood Bowl board.

Of course, this whole situation could be avoided if GW sticks to the 28mm industry standard which they themselves set!

Let's hope these aren't to AoS scale: ;)
A few people have mentioned using the new orruks as black orcs. This was just posted on the It Will Not Die Podcast page... they're huuuuuuuge!

The Megaboss is huge :o

He could be the troll of the team I suppose. The Brutes don't look that much bigger than black orcs and would certainly work as them. Many of the teams I see made from orc/ork models are really hard to differentiate between the positionals.

Holy kamole, haven`t been here for a week and am missing the action :D

Allrighty, there is actually only one argument that`s kind of itching a reaction out of me. Tom,
At Gen Con, Chaos Cup, Zlurpee ... most of the US tournaments ... a bigger board will NOT fit on the tables. So a bigger board would definitely NOT be a welcome change to the game. Have to disagree with you Dino.

this is a regional and tournament oriented statement. Don`t get me wrong, every subjective statement is okay, but everytime I see people making an argument about rule changes, it is always intrinsically focused.

I mean, let`s get away from the "me"-view and take a look at it from the view of a company. The BB scene hasn`t generated winnings for Games Workshop for more than a decade, also veterans basically have everything they need to play the game - that is the customer side that is of no interest to the company. If I`d work for the comany, just taking a quick look through the forums would spring the comment "I won`t buy the game, I`ll just play it like always" to my eye. So what would draw new players - the real customer that BUYS the game? Fancy looks, an easy to learn ruleset and boxed game, that is closed in itself (does not need to be expanded, but keeps this option).

The argument about stadardized tablesizes makes A LOT more sense to me. And to clarify this, there is no intention of insult in my argument, just a rational approach to the future of this game.

Anyways, the picture with the playtesters making the round in the net currently shows regular BB fields if I remember correctly, so all in all I expect the field to stay the same size currently.

Well, if you completely stop support for a game, stop selling the game itself and all of the accessories, why would you complain about that?

To be honest, GW should be proud that even after a decade of completely ignoring your customers, they still are an active player base with tournaments and all.

I think, GW was surprised how well the people out there received their licensed computer games and thought about trying to milk the cow again after not feeding it for a long time.
