Re: GW bringing back Specialist Games?!?
Another pic and more info recently posted on BOLS.
Most important new info from that is that the game will be out within 12 months. Earlier posts said it was due 2017, so I guess that means first quarter of 2017.

I noticed an awful lot of terrain-ish hexes on the table, and thought "this can't be good!" However, they might belong to the game on the right, which appears to read: "Lost Patrol"?PapyHarzen wrote:Hello, news from Gama found on Dakka dakka, one "good" picture of the box: http://i.imgur.com/jB9IB5H.jpg , wip?
It seems to be another human vs ork.

I guess it is, because that's the box that was opened and Blood Bowl still seems to be closed.birdman37 wrote:I noticed an awful lot of terrain-ish hexes on the table, and thought "this can't be good!" However, they might belong to the game on the right, which appears to read: "Lost Patrol"?

Re: GW bringing back Specialist Games?!?
Looks like nobody has cottoned on that is a rehash of a game from 1990 or 1991. Which had Space Marine scouts, tiles (so that each game is different) and first introduced Tyaranids. I think it was during the times that GW and MB games were doing lots of projects together.
Oh wait "“Games Workshop is releasing a new version of the 2000 classic Lost Patrol with updated components and rules. It arrives in stores on June 17."
Edit: It's older than that though, and I've never heard of 'Lost Patrol' before.
Edit 2: Remembered 'Advanced Space Crusade' and the MB one was 'Space Crusade'. Here is a pic

Lost Patrol was around the same time (1991-ish) as Space Fleet, Mighty Warriors and Kerrunch.

Re: GW bringing back Specialist Games?!?
Apparently 'Lost Patrol' is from 2000ish and Jake Ya..whatsit (blonde ponytail guy) designed it. Seems to be a video game that is similar but older too. The 1991 version is the picture I linked and called Advanced Space Crusade. The Marine Scouts look exactly the same in the 90/naughties versions.Darkson wrote:Lost Patrol was around the same time (1991-ish) as Space Fleet, Mighty Warriors and Kerrunch.

You are correct - I was misinformed that it was part of the (introductory?) series of box games they did.harvestmouse wrote:Apparently 'Lost Patrol' is from 2000ish

There was also Tyranid Attack, which has a very familiar set of contents!

Squats were real. I was too young at the time to have seen that specific box, but a few years on I had some metal minis very like them, and the arm and gun sprues look right.
