Yeah, but if the hobgoblins get taken out there's many more to replace them. Take out the two runners on a dwarf team and the team starts to be in serious trouble.
Ok, fair enough. I've always been a mediocre dwarf coach (although i believe i'm a pretty decent chaos dwarf coach), so don't be surprised that i didn't figure that one out myself!

Hmmm, you are right! I have 6 different CDs and 2 of them aren't listed so the guy I bought them from must have converted them. They fit in perfectly, except one has no shoulder pads and no gloves, and the other has one should pad only.
Only one of them looks as if he might have held a weapon so he has done a great job
I don't like the minis at all, and personally don't like the feel of the team - when they came out I just thought "cash cow" so have never touched them. No-one else I've ever played has used them (except possibly some TBB people at the BB tourny) and no-one wants to. I've never even fancied trying them out, despite their much touted ability.
It's like marmite - you either love it or hate it...
The team itself is great. It takes a regular Dwarf team and adds what it is lacking to stay competitive; extra ST, more movement, and more AGI. Granted, the regular Dwarf team is great, but the CD's are more rounded.
Hate the mini's though, so I don't play them

Commish of the ABBL, Tampa Bay's premier BloodBowl League!
In our league, most of the coaches object to my Chaos Dwarf team and some less than sporting coaches keep calling them Cheese Dwarves.
It has a 12-2 record. 5 CDwares with Guard, 1 CD without, 2 Bull Centaurs with Block and Mighty Blow (one also with Break Tackle), Troll with Pro and Block,
Hobbo with Pro/Block, Hobbo with Block/Kick, Hobbo with Block/DPlayer, Hobbo with DPlayer. Plus another 2 Hobbos. 5 Team rerolls.
After only 12 games the team is practically unbeatable against any other team in our league with the same number of games. With the Guard, it can destroy other front lines, with the Troll and Bull Centaurs it can cause casualties, and the latter can crunch the ball carrier.
Although the team listing only has 4 types of players (Bull Centaur, CDwarf, Troll/Minotaur and Hobgoblin), the Bull Centaurs are by far the best blitzer in the game. 9 movement and St4. Always easy to stop a score, or punch a hole where you want it through the defence and run into the backfield where the average team require 3 players to get a 2 dice block on you. Hobbos are great for fouling or just making up numbers at only 40 a pop. Team Rerolls at only 50K each.
It really is a very nice team. Harder to score against than Dwarves, but more speed and mobile hitting than the Dwarves. The only thing that holds them back in the long run is the lack of anyone with Agility or Passing skills. You have many games where you score 5-6 TDs like a super Elf or Skaven team, but you can easily score 2-3 whilst choking your opponent to 0-1.
Yep, Dwarf Linemen with Guard are just about the best bashers ever. A Dwarf team in my league is also doing this and many other coaches are complaining about it being broken, he keeps destroying other people's front lines.

Ah yes... true. I've only played beginner teams with up to 4-5 hobboes on field and I've enjoyed the fact that the CD blockers rarely seem to end up without someone coming to assist them. I still claim that even those 2-3 AG3 players plus the 2 BC's make a big difference to how effectively the CD's can be employed.

I can see with 2 BC's and a BGuy that the team is better than it could be if it was just a CD team, but I still don't see how HG's are of any use and therefore how it can be ranked so highly. Mummy's would crush any front line of this team.

Hobgobs are just basic human linemen with a AV decrease. I wouldn't call the human lineman completely useless so Hobgob's definitely have their use. The CD blocker is a great blocker (starts with Block and Tackle) and combining the 2 in the right way should make them work well. And then you add 2 BC's; amongst the best Blitzers in the game. Sure 2 mummies will smash through their front line. Two mummies will smash through any front line!

3 Hobgobs are rated (TR-wise) to be as important as 2 human linemen. Thus with the same TR burden they are able to give the same effort from their actions - or more if all three are fielded! Granted, they are more squishy, but there are more of them.
