Just wanted to give a thumbs up for the "getting to York"-chapter. This sort of information really helps.

It may also be intersting to know that the taxi from Leeds Bradford to York was about 90 GBP while the taxi from York to Leeds Bradford was more like 65 GBP. There is a taxi provider who is paying for the exclusive right to take you right to (and from) the airport's entrance rather than 150 meters away. Hard to get anybody else when arriving but you definitely should use a different company when leaving. That said taxi was quite a good deal with 5 travelling in the car.

Yeah, you could get a taxi to Leeds but then it is another £13 pound each for the train. So that is your £65 right there for five people, never mind the convenience.

In the end of the day the biggest lever is the number of people sharing. Our cab had space for 8
