1. None of the teams were "completely new" - they were all teams from 2nd edition.
2. None of the teams were introduced by Galak, they were all introduced by the BBRC as a whole.
3. The Chaos Pact team is in specifically because JJ wanted it, no other reason.

There's also a big difference to changing things based on play-testing and feedback, and changing things "because" and with no feedback.

Why have they then never be included in any official rule set?

At the end of the day this is the only question that needs asking.

Would I go? If I could get there, you bet I would be in. I have a DE team converted from plastics and a Lizard team converted from plastics as well as a metal chaos team with a retro mino. I would be worrying about humans bringing Zugg and super speedy Woodies

Which shows how much you know. You're the most anal person I've ever come across regarding what is official, when actually............I really can't see how much it affects you. You play in your own private league where you're free to do what you will. As trolls go........you leave no room under the bridge for others.
Regash wrote:Galak, just for me to know..

Really bitchy.....you know the answers there. Count me as having Galak's back on this one. I'm not a fan of some of his work however the 3 new races with 5+ that were added to LRB6 for me are outstanding. Anybody that doesn't consider them official well............that's there loss, but hey it's a free world and a free game. They hit all the right categories for me.

You know Regash, I try not to bite to your incessant trolling, but please.........give it a rest. I can appreciate not many agree with my views but your on a ledge of soloness that even I will never get near.

I'm not Galak (but I play him on TV! :wink: ), but as far as I know, GW didn't include them in the official rules because they didn't have minis for them.

GW's rule is apparently that anything that does not already have a GW mini to represent it cannot be written into the the game.

DinoTitanedition wrote:Blood Bowl has a lot of these factors already, but "the community" consists largely out of competitve....or rather say "win-oriented" players instead of purely fun oriented ones and, from my point of view, this hurts the game a lot more than a new ruleset. I want to give you an example - I am participating in a league in Mainz at the moment, consisting of 12 coaches. Aside from me, there is one more new member in the league, hailing from Frankfurt, a city nearby. I usually do not play overly competitive, since I tend to do some crazy stuff on the field when it isn`t really neccessary, but after the first run I already realised, that the players, even with well skilled teams, rather play it safe relying on nothing else but the usual cage tactic.

The new guy, Kako K. (known from Tabletopwelt.de and most famous for his great Bretonnian team conversion), is also a less competitive playing style of player, but guess how much fun he has with the current ruleset? He`s loosing one game after another, pointing out that loosing teams are caught in a downwards spiral in a league, especially since the winning team gets more money than the loosing team (wich would need it, to stay in the race), cannot replace injuries and are mostly chanceless against cagegrinders with a new team.
This is confusing... you both play non competitive, then complain about losing. If you don't play to win but to have fun, then why care at all about not winning? :-? BB even has teams with this in mind (which some hate / want to improve because they lose a lot, and others just love and embrace fully). I have seen people doing experiments like "all linemen" and other things that go against "winning at all costs". All them knew winning is rare that way... but played anyway, because it was about playing. :smoking:

Which changes?
FUMBBL uses the CRP, the 21 official teams and the 3 unofficial ones for GW (because they lacked a miniatures range) but official for BBRC.
FUMBBL is the most CRP-compliant online Blood Bowl.

Maybe he means Stunty Leeg and the test methods. Which are avaliable if you pick the right section, not forced unto anybody and, I believe, can't mix with the basic leagues. FUMBBL is pretty much CRP by default and, if you want, something else too.

I'm guessing now that that argument is over there is only really one more question to ask....

How do we pronounce the XXXXXX in "The XXXXXX League Cup"? Is it Double Triple X, or Triple X times Two, or X-X-X-X-X-(bloody hell i've lost count)-X, or just Bugmans All X?? This has been puzzling me for some time now.

Thanks in advance for any answers :orc:

Stunty Leeg is a "for fun" division with its own house rules and custom rosters, but the two main divisions (Ranked and Black Box) don't use any team from Stunty Leeg.

And that is exactly why I wrote "as far as I know". Obviously, there are quite a lot of strange teams around FUMBBL. Good thing if they have their own section for playing them.
I've never played on FUMBBL because I don't like the client and heard from other people the competition is very... winoriented. Again, that's what I heard, no first hand experience.
The online online BB experience I have was with BB1 and that was very unpleasant for me.
Olaf the Stout wrote:GW didn't include them in the official rules because they didn't have minis for them.

If this is true, I'm really not surprised. Could have figured it out by myself. All hell would break loose if anyone even dared to convert minis from other manufacturers! :orc:
On second thought... Maybe all those teams from 3rd party manufacturers that seem to do so well on crowdfunding are the reason why GW dips its toes into BB again? :lol:

@harvestmouse:
Maybe you get me wrong or maybe my english isn't as good as I thought it to be.
Trolling is in no way what I'm trying to do.
I'm really sorry if expressing my opinion is not to your liking but trolling?

And yes, what I call "official" is really narrowed down to what the owner of the game has released.
So, in my opinion, the 5 teams (Slann, Chaos Pact, Underworld, Khorne and Bretonnian) stay unofficial teams. And according to the team lists provided by GW, they agree! :wink:
You may have missed my thread about miniatures for these 5 new teams and that I'm almost done collecting them. (Just J_Bones Slann and the goblins haven't arrived yet.)
Being unofficial doesn't mean I say nobody should play them. I even included them in my team manager excel sheet, also up for download on this forum.
So what is your problem with me calling them unofficial?

Oh, and just so you know... Going with the majority has never been my thing. Although I never go into opposition just because I avoid majorities.
It's just a good thing to have your own opinion... and expressing it!

You didn`t get what I was saying, or I didn`t choose the perfect words (but...english is not my native languague, so I might not always express myself perfectly). I do not care about winning or losing, but I do care about "doing something on the board". "Just being there" isn`t enough for me or for him to play this game. Of course you want to participate in it. How the outcome will turn out can be left to suprise, but if you`re damned to just look it quickly becomes a boring situation which might not be woth the free time one is spending. I feel the special play cards are a great addition to the game this way. Increased randomnes (for me) seemed to be a driving element to more fun. You just never know what you`ll get.

I actually own and play more fun teams than "winning" teams, and I ususally don`t play them in a maximized constellation. My undead team for example was built, because I had parts left. So I had no special constellation in mind, when I did those. I do play ogres and goblins also and want to add an underworld team as well. Since I enjoy converting and painting a lot, a chaos-pact team will also join my number of teams after a while. My favourite team are orcs thou, but not because of their strength on the pitch - I just always liked the way they were presented in the Warhammer Blood Bowl Universe.

@harvestmouse

There`s obviously enough room for you. At least the way you`re responding implies that he is comunicationg on the right level. Not a fan of it either, but rather be a rolemodel than to insult, right?

@Olaf
I'm not Galak (but I play him on TV! :wink: ), but as far as I know, GW didn't include them in the official rules because they didn't have minis for them.
As far as what I`ve heard it was because Slann didn`t fit the background of them being pretty fat lazy asses. It hails from the Warhammer universe background, which BB is based off and is confirmed in Matt Forbeck`s "Rumble in the jungle" novel (no.4 in the chronology of novels).

@MattDakka
FUMBBL uses the CRP, the 21 official teams and the 3 unofficial ones for GW (because they lacked a miniatures range) but official for BBRC.
Doesn`t it also have the apeteam? I read the roster and gotta say I do not like it, but that is because of the teamdescription. I merely describes the function of players and isn`t a real backgroundstory. To me it seems strongly ruleoriented and is lacking a little creativity. After all, even though originating as a board game, this game has it`s roots in a company`s philosophy of combining modelling, painting and playing aspects. At least in the days, when this game was found.

"Official for BBRC" is an expression I am not sure what to think of. I am not a member of the NAF, still I am a part of the Blood Bowl community, which expands far from the borders of the NAF. So what is the BBRC? To my understanding it`s a small group of people thinking about rules (correct me if I`m wrong Galak, since you were part of that group during the development of those teams) working together with the manufacturer. If the gruop doesn`t work with the manufacturer anymore, how official is it? To me something official is, what the manufacturer is ok with. Example: Cyanide works with a license, so as long as GW doesn`t say "no" it is official from my point of view, which makes Slann, Chaospact and Apes inofficial teams.

But that is just way of perception. Personally I like Chaospact and Slann (even thou I`d change "Slann" to "Breedling" in order to align it a little more with the background - something like the youngest generation of Slanns, or the next evolutionary testbreeds) and like seeing them on the pitch.

@Regash
Obviously, there are quite a lot of strange teams around FUMBBL.
The original stunty teams were all playable with the regular rules - all out Skinks, Halflings, Snot or Goblins were possible. I I remember right, the newer stunty teams are not that old. But that is okay in my opinion, since FUMBBL is pretty much a closed community - you can always join, but FUMBBL rules don`t get outside of FUMBBL.
:wink:
I`ve just read that. As I expressed earlier, "licensed" seems to be official to me as well. Bretonnians are a great play by the way, quite challenging at the beginning.

@sann0638
Six-X, would be my guess.
Best one so far :D Say it fast enough...
