Discuss Fantasy football-style board games - GW's Blood Bowl, Impact!'s Elfball, Privateer Press' Grind, Heresy's Deathball, etc. THIS IS NOT AN NFL FANTASY FOOTBALL SITE!
Surely this is good news, new coaches etc, but I do have a few serious questions, will this mean I'll have to ask Mantic for a refund of my yet non delivered dungeon crawler? How will my Imperial/Space Marine Armageddon fleet hold up in BFG? and am I the only person hoping for a new Orc BloodBowl team!?
Bring back the good old days!

I'm a British Freebooter, will play for any team including Undead (I have my own Apothecary). Good rates.
Good 'ol Granny Wendy has decided to go back on her closing of the Specialist range, and they're now opening a completely new "Specialist Design Studio."
This is the first time in quite a while that "New Blood Bowl" has gotten past the rumors stage (mind, I think I've been hearing rumors of new blood bowl for at least the past decade).

Yeah, this was my first reaction. The only thing I want from GW in regards to Specialist Games is nice new minis. Don't touch the rules, please.
This times 1,000,000. If they redo the rules I'll be f*cking pissed. I don't want to have to redo teams or relearn a game I already know and love because of some goddamn suits being greedy. Those pieces of crap shouldn't even touch the game rules of any of those games. They gave up on them. They should stick to making minis and keep it that way. Even then, some of these third party mini manufacturers make good looking stuff at more reasonable prices, so really, GW should just go the hell away.
Sorry for the rant, everyone. This kind of shit boils my blood.....
Come on now, the rules have been changing for years, dought they'd change them much anyway as they will want to sell new models. Anyway its their game, loads of people will rage quit no dought without even attempting to play it so stop your whining and buckle up your jock strap there's still NAF trophys to play for.
And BTW GW do the best boxed sets, last time I looked alternative BB Teams cost around 100 pound!??

They're more likely to change the rules to make the old stuff of minimal use so you "need" to buy their new models and to screw over the independents.
Keping the rules the same would mean we could ignore GW.

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

Until further notice, my thoughts on this subject will be set to "Agree with Darkson".

And the "wrong" 11, as you will be missing your big guy, any positional beyond the initial 2, and will have too many lineman... So buying a GW teams means you also need to hunt around for the odd extra blitzer or a treeman or what not.
Of course my biased opinion is that you can get better big men from the aforementioned company anyway...
So here is my hope: GW's works it out with Cyanideto put advertisements into the game for their miniatures; and on the Cyanide site. Something to get the computer players to start buying the teams they love to play. Then those computer players start to look for somewhere to play their favorite teams. That's where the NAF comes in. The NAF sends out notes to those new potential players that there is a tournament that is happening right in their area! Or that there is a league that is in their area and the contact number is XXX-XXXX.
This, my friends in charge of the NAF, is a golden opportunity to find a shedload of new players! This wouldn't take a lot. GW wins. The tabletop world wins. Even Cyanide wins by strengthening their relationship with GW and the possibility of further benefits from their license.

??? No sure where you are shopping frogboy
24 pound at Impact! with normally 16 to 18 players instead of GW's 11 to 12
22 pound at Black Scorpion with normally 11 players just like GW.
And those are trollcast or more classic resin. Even in metal, BB alternative companies offer acceptable things, below the 140 euro (100 pounds). Which are all labor intensive processes with proved quality, while plastic is not intensive (yes, injection molds are expensive, but the sprues are spit every few seconds) and finecast is crap (and quietly being killed).
Blood Bowl has changed a lot from when I first played in 1998. There were no pro elf, necromantic, Khemri, vampire, ogre, nurgle, chaos pact, slann or underworld team. Norse didn't have yeti or ulfwerner, dark elves had throwers not runners and no assassins. There was no such thing as wrestle. What I mean is blood bowl has changed a lot. And if it change again, no big deal.
