Re: a joke?!?
Assuming the annual shareholder meeting was not a complete group of lies ... the focus would be minis for those old games .. not the games themselves. IF they even do this.

Re: GW bringing back Specialist Games?!?
There's a lot of smoke around this one, so I'd guess some fire as well... but it's so different from their public stances on just about everything for the past two years that I'm confused.
I can't even decide whether I'm optimistic about this or not. I do think GW needs some entry level games (especially financially and ease of play) like Mordheim and Necromunda... but Blood Bowl viewed this way is a failure...
So if Blood Bowl gets support, maybe that's good. But if Blood Bowl gets a relaunch... Well, odds are it will be a worse product.
Now the other side of me does see something interesting. My kids (6 and
love my Blood Bowl game and love watching my Blood Bowl 2 matches on PS4 (yes... I have it for free, please minimal judging... OK... I deserve it ;() But the game is really a bit complex for under 10 I would say, so I have made some house rules which make it more easily accessed. If Blood Bowl were to somehow move in this direction it would suck for me, but it could bring a whole younger generation in if promoted right. Blood Bowl as a concept (Ogres, Trolls, elves, dwarves and men playing a violent game of football) is just so awesome.
And the final side of me- I shudder to think what GW would actually do if they tried any of the above.
Damn it... my final verdict here is this is downright a bad thing. Pessimism and disbelief is all I can muster.

It appears to have been confirmed on the GW app.

In a german forum, I've read that, yes, that e-mail really exists.
But no, no Specialist Games, this is mostly to give a home to the games of the LotR and Hobbit franchise.
But this also is just a rumor, no one is the wiser.

My reaction to this:
1) GW has an app?
2) If they're revamping the Specialist division, I may have to get it.
3) chip_killy, plug in your iPad!

Re: GW bringing back Specialist Games?!?
It's my hope that in order to avoid confusion for the computer game's players, the Blood Bowl rules would not be "re-vamped" in any significant way. That is, maybe they would incorporate the new teams/prices from the Cyanide game and leave it at that.Kaiowas wrote:agreedsydo wrote:The word "re-vamping" scares me...
I'll leave it to sturdier folk than I to debate the degree of cataclysm that would deliver upon the game.

Re: GW bringing back Specialist Games?!?
Re-vamped could still very much just mean a re-vamped miniature range and / or a box set. Nothing regarding rules has been specified yet.
edit:
I went to look to see the latest GW HQ vacancies being advertised:
2nd Nov - Industrial Product Designer
3rd Nov - Citadel Miniatures Conceptualiser
9th Nov - Forge World Graphic Illustrator
