What if Blitzers and Blockers were the only players to have access to Block? Players such as Wardancers, Witch Elves, Trollslayers, Whights, Werewolves etc could count as either maybe? I know Wrestle is a counter skill to Block as tackle is to Dodge (though not a severe!)

Do the Norse and Dwarves get to keep Block? They'll have an enormous boost over the other teams if they do, and will be a bit shafted if they don't.

Wardancers are the Wood Elf Blitzer by another name, as is the Witch Elves, Slayers and Wights etc.

That's almost like making Block a strength access skill (outside of the elves, don't all blockers and Blitzers have strength access?)

Not a huge fan of your suggestion, but I do like the idea of splitting Block up into offensive and defensive skills, such that Blitzers of all stripes would get offensive Block, and Blockers could potentially get the defensive version (call it Brace). Would remove some of Norse's protection, making them even more of a paper tiger, and knock Dwarven blocking reliability down a peg, which I think needs doing. Blodge wouldn't be so easy to come by on elves if elf Blitzers/Dancers still needed 2 more skills for complete blodgey protection. Could boost Flesh Golems quite a bit (Brace), without going full-on. Treemen maybe as well.

it would make even less competitiv roster without access to block as starting skill.
and i don't speak about the without "blitzers/blocker":
Chaos Pact
Halfling
Gobelin
Vampire

nurgle in long tearm would benefit to this change (as 4 blitzers, and 4 blockeurs)
