I see what you mean regarding the overall theme of the team, but I believe that this could be achieved by just having scale armor on the hobgoblins. These scales could then be painted as leather on the hobgoblins, but still tie in visibly with the chaos dwarves. The plate armor doesn't really fit, in my opinion. I'd rather see rags/clothing and scales.
Only scales? Wouldn't be too monotonous? Style apart, armour is a good way to paint them with several colours ( skin, bandages, shorts, scales, armour, armour details... ).

I hope they can be casted as single pieces. I don't like pinning either, and I like cutting finished figures even less than that XD

Bollocks. There was quite a bit of flak concerning the Khârn similitude there as well... ;-)
Yeah XD There is a BIG difference between not accepting other opinions than "hearing" only critiques from people who don't say anything if they have to say something good about your work ( sculpting, painting... it doesn't matter ). And I'm not only talking about Norse this time.

First of, thanks for responding to my feedback and yes, you're right, it could be monotonous.
If you'd exchange the plate armor with a robe, you'd have to paint the team in two colors (which most people do anyway) and/or paint it in a neutral color like brown (reserved for the scales), white or black.

I assume that you'd leave the shoulder pads (or maybe just one, which I'd find better. One shoulder pad = AV7. Two shoulder pads > AV7) and the hood and add a robe over the scale armor. That means that I'd paint the shoulder pad(s) in the main color. Same as the armor on the dwarves. I'd then paint the hood in a second color. Let's say black. The robe could then be the main color, same as the shoulder pad(s), if the hood were to end a bit lower, say just underneath the shoulder pad(s), creating a contrast against the robe. Or, if the shoulder pad(s) has/have a trim, that could be the contrast between the robe and the shoulder pad(s).
The scales could then be brown and the pants/shorts the same color as the hood.

I hope the above text makes sense :D

Btw, I love the coach!

I sold my "shares" in Impact to Tom and Chris a long time ago. I still mention them in my signature because I still want them to succeed, but I have no involvement any more. I always want to support the independent companies and sculptors out there. If I see something I think can be better, I will comment. If I see something I think is awesome, I say so (like your bull centaurs for instance). If I see something which I think is a copy of something else, or just not "right" (like the Thrudd mini Willy sells) I will also comment, whether people want to listen or not.

I like your dwarves and the coach. I don't think they are awesome, but I like them as they are, which is why I didn't make any comments. I think your Bulls are awesome, and said as much many pages ago. I think the blunderbuss turned out great, and I appreciate you taking feedback on board. I think the hobgoblins could be better and said as much.

No agenda, hidden or otherwise. 8)

just on the name on the "BB foro fan club" I have to tell you norse, that myself was being harsh with sergus there a week ago there, when I realized he had being doing this team for almost two years any day now, and so I told him! The next time don't announce a team until he can be fully commited to it.

I love the coach... Fantastic work. It's so full of character, which a lot of sideline miniatures are missing. I'm looking forward to seeing both finished bull centaurs! The WIP I saw of the first one looked way better than any others that I've seen in the past.

If you cannot stall out for an 8 turn drive to score with dwarves then you need to go and play canasta with your dad..if you can find him.

I like the CDwarfs, but agree on the 'probably' too much armour on the hobgobs. But I have to see more of them to be sure.
And not too dynamic means (most of the time) easier mini for transportation and fielding. I'm all for that. They are 'only' MA 6, after all. :)

I'd love to have one of those octopusses, would look great as a coach or just painted up!

I already have a GW CD team, but I might be tempted to buy these as well. Or just the Dwarfs,... but if I could buy an octo-coach I'd probably add them to the order, just to make it worthwile.

As an aside (but maybe I shouldnt get involved), I think Norse makes some pretty good points most of the time. You can agree with them or not, but he's a straight guy in my book. If he doesnt like it, he'll say so. No hidden agenda I am sure.
I am not saying "he's right and you are not", I want to be saying "he'll give his honest opinion, like it or not" :).

Just my 0.02 €.

Now, when will this lovely team be finished and how much will it cost me? And please dont cast them in that 'heroic scale' some manufacturers use, I want my Dwarfs to be Dwarfish and my hobgobs to be STR 3. :D

scale wise these are perfect.. even the BG isn't too big, which is a refreshing change these days..

serg - none of my business, but are you sure the plastic pieces (like the barrel of the blunderbuss and the lower body/legs of the coach) are going to hold up to casting?? or are these minis going to be resin, not pewter? or maybe they're not plastic?

I'd say they will be metal, but I think they'll do resin copies first. Although I'm not sure. Anyway these plasticard can be casted with metal moulds. The problem is that green can suffer, although mould works and can do good copies.

must be a different molding process than the one I am used to then - that one plastic melts, so it's a hot mess - literally!

The last greens with plasticard I saw casted in metal ( a fiew months ago ) got "crispy", but the mould worked perfectly. And the worst I have ever seen got melted ( only the plasticard, of course ), but, again, mould didn't suffer damage.

Liking the scale - these have jumped right to the top of my CD list.
