Best passing team?

Post by birdbath »

Hey all,

Its time for a new team and I want to throw and pass the ball around a lot.

What is the best team that excels at throwing?

Cheers,
Bb

High Elves or Pro Elves, I'd say.

Wood, High or straight Elves.
AG4 means you can Long Bomb @5+, then Catch @2+ (plus tackle zone modifiers of course).
Wood Elves have Pass skill to reroll that pass Catch for rerolling the catch. Though S2 Catchers are a weakness if you are not careful. Dodge helps.
High Elves have Pass and Safe Throw. ST means you can be a bit more reckless in where you Pass from. Again Catchers can Catch, are S3, but no Dodge. By game 2 you should have Dodge, though.
Elves Throwers are same as Wood Elves, but (IMO) their Catchers are the best in the game. Bar Disturbing Presence they are always catching on 2+, with Catch reroll. Again no Dodge, but by game 2 they should have it ;)

TOs! You do not need multiple copies of rosters. It's a waste of paper.

Pro elf offence is the closest thing to unstoppable in the game. particularly if your catchers blodge up quickly

If you cannot stall out for an 8 turn drive to score with dwarves then you need to go and play canasta with your dad..if you can find him.

What everyone else has said; High Elf or Just Elf. HEs have a better thrower, Elf team has better catchers.

Flip a coin or go with which miniatures you like the best.

Or go for both!

I use Black Scorpion elves and they look great as High or Pro Elves.

I have to say woodies. They are the fastest in the game, come with pass and catch and you get to use wardancers!

No faster catchers than Elves or High Elves apart from sprint. It might be worth sparing a thought for Skaven, Gutter Runners are great and the Thrower while not ag4 does get Sure Hands to partly compensate if you use him.

True. AG3 w/Sure Hands is 1/9 chance of failure compared to the AG4 w/o Sure Hands 1/6. However I'd rather start with AG4 and get Sure Hands, which is easier to do than getting AG4.

I do agree that Gutter Runners are great. So fast and agile. I hate them and feel dirty whenever I use them, even when they are scoring for the Nth time

Thanks guys for your help, I might buy the black scorpion miniatures elf team and try elf and high elf teams.

Why not use a gutter as a thrower?

MA9 and AG4 make up for the lack of sure hands and pass, if you give them sure feet that could be used in the throwing or catching role.
