blood lust failed and pick up failed next to a thrall

#1Okay if a vamp blood lusts, runs over to the ball to pick it up but fails (TO I know) and is next to a thrall, can he still bite the thrall, thus avioding being put into the reserves?

The failed pick-up causes the action to immediately end. This is when Blood Lust then kicks in, so the Vamp can feed. Turnovers do not immediately end the player's turn as non-optional incidents still occur. The examples given in the Turnover rules are Armour/Injury rolls and bouncing ball but I suspect Blood Lust would be in the same category.

I agree. But the answer is opposite.

its a turnover and the Vampire leaves the pitch (just as if he had failed to pick up the ball after failing a Blood Lust roll.

That's because your first quote is from 7 years ago and a different rule set.
