I think Shane had the same confusion I did, I only just realised 3 game 1 dayers get sanctioned now.

This thread got me thinking what I could do in order to maybe make life easier when promoting this awsome game. I noticed that there is no central place where you could get everything you need in order to play the game. So I put together an Blood Bowl Beginner Kit, which you can find here:

viewtopic.php?f=27&t=41207

It's for newbies really, but should also provide everybody with the neccessary resources to promote this awsome game without spending hundreds of Gold Coins on extra pitches and teams.
Hope it's helpful.

I personally miss the painting awards, which seam to have mostly gone. I guess any sub 30 man tourni wont have the spare cash for prizes and thus the lower numbers are kinda going to effect the quality of the event.

My personal experience is that you can get a great following from people just wanting to dip a toe in and just play the one day tournament and not really both any other time. The problem been you then loose these player and left we people that want to play the experienced side.
I've run the Rose Bowl twice in 3 year and am looking at making it a regular yearly fixture. The rule set that I've tried to follow (made in 2002 by the old games workshop manager of Wakefield, Rob) was made for beginners and people that want to just play a one day tournament.

Since then numbers have dwindled and most players core player don't really like playing basic teams.
Flip side to that new players feel over whelmed.

My 2p letting TO play with the rules a little more but still be able to be NAF raked my help.

i run a very modest tourney in honor of my cousin mike, who was killed in afghanistan. even tho i'm in an out of the way local, i'm very happy to say we have avaraged 22 players over the 5 years the event has run.
the one thing i'd like to see is more TFF members attending. so far, we've had members contact me and say they were interested in attending, but sadly, only one member has shown up...(thanks, mnb!).

How would you design a tournament specifically to encourage new players to dip their toe in?

TOs! You do not need multiple copies of rosters. It's a waste of paper.
