A spike makes opponents refrain from hitting the hand more than a simple gauntlet.

I want to see the Blood Bowl match where players take advantage of l'amour that is permitted them...

I like spikes. They're often useful surfaces to apply a third colour to a scheme.

They were a big '80s thing with glam/hair metal and that sort of filtered into GW culture generally, so I see my spiked 2nd ed and RoC minis as a legacy of that era.

Actually I'm not against ALL spikes.. just when there are too many or they're too large.

I like to file armor spikes down. I prefer trauma of the blunt-force variety.

Good point! *writes in notebook*... The chart does say "broke spine/collarbone/knee" not "punctured belly/arm/back"... Actually you nailed right there SunDevil. I prefer my spikes to be as blunt as a club or a meathammer because of the blunt force trauma :D

Have always felt that Blood Bowl was more of a cartoony version of fantasy than your standard warhammer err...wars. So ridiculous spikes are fine as the pain dealt doesnt really hurt so bad.

I feel relieved - I'm not the only anti-spiker out there! Yes I did chop off Morg's spike, and have leant to tolerate them over the years..but my god I hate them. Especially that metal GW human team where all the pieces had giant spikes. Great models were it not for the blitzers looking like Edward Scissorhands. I'm totally with you on this anti-spike thing.

Just put a dwarf head on the end of each one. Much more aesthetically pleasing :D

Not a big fan of overdone spikes either

If you cannot stall out for an 8 turn drive to score with dwarves then you need to go and play canasta with your dad..if you can find him.

Always thought his Helmet looked like a toilet plunger you should replace with a match stick to get that effect

That is a great idea! My plan was to green stuff his helmet to look like a colander or a saucepan but the nerd propellor hat?!? Genius.

If you check out my treeman thread in the other miniatures section you can see a take root marker I made... Maybe a really stupid marker could be made to put in the hat as well ;)
