BaWSh Bowl I at the NoVA Open Aug 29th & 30th 2014

Post by bastion01 »

The lost God Nuffle beckons all faithful to his domain!
Let every nostril be filled with scents of fresh grass and dirt.
Make each boot, hoof and cleat slick with the entrails of trodden opponents.

The dice are twitching and the time is now to grab your seat for the carnage of BaWSH Bowl at the NoVA Open! Plow through four opponents to plant your team at the top of the heap and claim a year's worth of Boasting rights. Play one of the two events or both if you're Man/Beast/Sslan enough!

Slaughterday: A Day Long Triumph!
Smother yourself in a full day's worth of gore and improbable dice results with four straight games to quench or stoke the blood lust(as you see fit).

8/30/14
4 games, Swiss pairings
8:30am(check in) - 7:30pm

----------------------------------------------------

Friday Night Lights & Slaughterday Night:
Take your abuse two games at a time after a long day on other battlefields.
Kick back and Kick Off with other battle-worn coaches ready for the sort of mayhem only found on a Blood Bowl pitch. Roll like you mean it and laugh at your fate!

4 games, Swiss pairings. Two games per night.
8/29/14 : 8pm(check in) - 12:30am-ish, Game 1 & Game 2
8/30/14 : 8pm(check in) - 12:30am-ish, Game 3 & Game 4

Don't hesitate to ask anything that comes to mind!

Bumping this up. I've been talking it up with all my VA friends and there may be a couple from LIBBL that would come down. I'm going to mention it at our game day in a couple of weeks.

So it looks like everything's changed to be now two tournaments? Interesting.

No Changes, really - just a second event added:
Now there are two independent events both using the exact same rules and setup.
We wanted an after-hours event so that people already involved in other day-long events can kick back and throw-down.

Got it. Well I've got at least one other, possibly 2 more beyond that for a total of 4. If I can snag some LIBBL guys along with me, all the better! I think the VA Beach guys were also talking about making the trip. I hope this happens, I haven't played in a NAF tournament since GenCon 2007.

All the Boards, Dugouts and Ranger-Finders are done.

Have a brief peek at what awaits your stalwart team:

If you haven't signed up already the time is now.
Twenty-four days and counting!
All that's missing is you!
I'm stoked and I'm not even competing.

As a last-minute reminder/resource for folks:
You can find the Competition Rules here:

So the one in the day is the one that's NAF-sanctioned and the one at night is just for fun?

That isn't the case, though, at least not currently. It's definitely a possibility, but I thought maybe the intent was to have a more low-key event in the evenings.

Thank you for asking. I can see this being a big one for some people and there definitiely needs to be clarification.
The Tournament was announced and sanctioned initially as Saturday only with the Fri/Sat night slots opened up later to allow a wider range of participants and generally let anyone play in a relatively non-competitive/friendly environment.
(hey..this might be perfect for beginner players ...)
heck, I'll even have two of my own teams on-hand in case someone needs a team for some reason.

The NAF Sanctioned Tournament will remain for Saturday only this year escpecially considering how close we are to kick-off.
I apologize for not making the distinction sooner.
The format and timing will likely be revised for next year taking into account feedback and player experience among other things.
We won't know what you liked/disliked until you tell us!

I'm confused by the whole ticket process. I've registered for the event ($50) and paid. Then I registered for the Blood Bowl (I think?) tournaments (both). It said on the page to remove the general admission from the cart which of course meant my cart was empty. There was a mismatch between what was in the cart ($40 general admission) and a box summary on the right which had the items, but at $0. Now that I've removed the tickets from the cart, I believe I've been removed from the Blood Bowl tournaments.

Help me BAWSH-i-wan, you're my only hope!
