Frankly it seemed like too much effort to try and decipher what you said so I'm happy to accept that "almost unfathomable" is an accurate disclaimer.
Not just me then.

TOs! You do not need multiple copies of rosters. It's a waste of paper.

Daemons of Khorne is not an official CRP roster, so it's good they left it out.

Neither are Slann, Pact or Underworld ;)

But yes, I am also glad they posted it unedited.

Knowing Focus and Cyanide they probably couldn't work out how to.

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

Slann, Pact and Underworld have Jervis Johnson's approbation, that's the reason they can be used in NAF official tournaments.
Anyway, Daemons of Khorne is a joke team, a supposed heavy bash team that can't bash properly.

Maybe, but that's not what you said. You said "official CRP roster" ;)

Yes I said, Slann Pact and Underworld should be official because JJ authorized them and they are BBRC endorsed as well.
They just cannot be put in the CRP for the silly reason that GW doesn't have a range of miniatures for them.

should be official ≠ is official, regardless of opinions on the reasons ;)

Either way, I think we are all glad to see Icepelt roaming freely.

No, actually. Linking to something that is hosted elsewhere, or even to a page that links to something that is hosted elsewhere, is still actionable under the DMCA - that was one of the huge controversies with the DMCA: you don't even need to be the one doing the direct infringement to be liable.

It does come down to whether or not GW decides to care about the document in the first place, though. Most likely they won't officially say anything and it'll be a "we don't care until we do". It's just as easy for them to declare that nobody can host the document but simply not enforce that declaration when it comes to their "friends" like Cyanide/Focus. That lets them nail people for deep linking to the document elsewhere without requiring they get the actual document taken down. Given that the NAF has decided to resist the changes that Cyanide has made to the game there's a good chance the NAF will fall out of favour with GW, since GW's main interest always seems to be in making money, and the only way BB is really making them money anymore is through the products made by licensees.
MattDakka wrote:Daemons of Khorne is not an official CRP roster, so it's good they left it out.
While I don't like the roster, and don't like that they added it to their game, the fact is that GW has removed itself from the BB publishing business, and the only active licenses for making BB-related anything belong to Cyanide and FFG, so it's not quite as cut-and-dry as you're making it out to be. It's a philosophical position... you either feel that BB is forever frozen as the CRP because GW has stopped working on the game, or you feel that the game continues to develop in the hands of the people that hold licenses. Neither position is more objectively correct than the other... and I suspect if you stick with the "the game is CRP forever" you'll be stuck with a slowly shrinking community of players. But who knows?

Those aren't the only options, of course. Every other GW game has continued to evolve through player-created rules revisions and most are still reasonably/relatively popular. Those fan contributions were necessary because none of them were lucky enough to have a GW-appointed rules committee and rule sets that were officially revised on a regular basis.

Now, Blood Bowl is in the same boat as those other games, and I would imagine that we must eventually consider taking another look at the rules. The danger is in splintering the player base. I recall some of that going on with each LRB revision, but the adherents of earlier editions (unless you count FUMBBLers) seemed to fade away fairly quickly. That might not be the case if GW's official seal can't be stamped onto LRB7, though.

That certainly happened to Epic. Last time I checked (which was 18 months ago when I last went to a tourney) there were 3 different rules variants that tournies could use plus countless army lists that may or not be compatible with the rules you are using.
Personally, if there is a fracture, my league and tournament will stick with what NAF does.

Only realistic options for the time being. Plenty of people would love to make changes to the game, but nobody will listen to the changes they propose; it's going to come down to which major entity wins out.

Does GW even acknowledge BB anymore? Do they make it even reasonably easy to get a hold of the CRP documents? While they're the go-to excuse that old players use to disregard anyone else's ideas (eg, "GW is never going to add that, so...") they're progressively removing themselves from the BB arena altogether, leaving non-GW groups/companies to make or deny any changes as they see fit. As time goes on this will result in more people being willing to follow the lead of those groups and companies.

There are already many groups of BB coaches using the Khorne roster in tabletop, for example, despite the fact that they originate from the online version of the game. The NAF has officially denied the roster's validity.... so you're already seeing the splintering of the playerbase happening, even in TT. This is likely to continue with the release of Cyanide's BB2 game.

There's also the Apes of Wrath team that is getting added to FUMBBL.

Khorne in Cyanide BB and some TT, Apes of Wrath in FUMBBL and some TT, soon to be Britonians in Cyanide BB2 and presumably TT.... I think the cats out of the bag on making changes to BB. It will be interesting to see where we end up a few more years removed from GW.

Cyanide are now hosting the Icepelt rulebook

Would it not make sense for the more respected members of the various communities to form a combined rules committee and see what can be done to arrive at LRB7 for all to enjoy and maintain the cameraderie
