Re: Sukubus Team
Hi everyone. We´re Laia & Ian, founders and creators of Sukubus Studio and Sukubus Team. We have created this account in order to perform at this post. Thank you very much for your comments. We are delighted that veterans like you discuss our creations and help us to improve.
-We want to publicly apologize if anyone was offended. As you will know understand it was not our intention. Thanks to you learn from our mistakes for future projects. Even with them, we are quite pleased with our effort and dedication. Note that is the first range of models that we developed.
-We would like to clarify that none of us are sexist and don´t approve similar attitudes. We do not want to start a debate on various points of view, moral or not. Just to show you our ideas and maintain a friendly dialogue with those that address us properly.
-We read all your comments and now we invite you to visit our campaign from this link. We do not want to harm anyone in any way and do not post more images in this forum. As a prove of our respect for users who may be offended.

Re: Sukubus Team
My wife has just backed this team. And will probably be going in for the €300 'you as a star player' perk as well. It seems, from sharing this around on FB, that her friends all really like the concept, far more than the shit stuff I normally paint and game with, because that just leaves them cold. I find that interesting because most of her friends are really girly girls who talk a language I simply don't understand.
And I notice the sculptor is a female.
I guess the nerd rage as ever only applies in a vacuum.

Laia and Ian, good for you... hope you realize your dreams....
Burgun: if you make it down to Atlanta, I would like to offer you a bottle of whatever-is-your-poison at Ale Yeah! for your well reasoned and sensible comments....
Back to the sculptors: had I the need for vampire thralls, I would seriously consider your offer for most of the minis and for the multiple levels of word and myth humor in mating vamps with "vamps".... Nevertheless, I can see some of your poses as more for the sidelines, ala the cheerleading squad from The Replacements.... I like my minis in pads and your runner is stunningly awesome in pose, equipment and facial intensity... as well as the horned (queen?) miniature.... Even the kicker is fine by me....
Reading the extreme alarmists comments makes me sadly reminiscent for George Carlin:
"We're gonna f@ck ya sherrif, but we're gonna f@ck ya realllll slow...."

You may be the first person in the history of the world to make that statement, but I'll take you up on it.Digger Goreman wrote:Burgun: if you make it down to Atlanta, I would like to offer you a bottle of whatever-is-your-poison at Ale Yeah! for your well reasoned and sensible comments....

Re: Sukubus Team
One more thing.
As someone who has experience of the two industries of miniature casting and of printing in 3d these renders will print out very well. Better than most that flashed around and attract fawning admiration. Some masters may need reinforcement to correct shrinkage but that's the norm. And they'll cast well in resin.
Nice try though.

+1. as we have a few women turn up at our gig, i would'nt wecome this team either...glowworm wrote:I have no wish to own this team, because of the models, they look impractical to use, how do you place prone (was going to say lay down.....) some of them, either prone or stunned? they are impractical in the extreme. They hold no appeal to me whatsoever.....
Also, tempest is a good friend of mine, if she is "uncomfortable" (to Paraphrase) with them then there's a problem as she's a level headed reasonable person...
We as a community should be trying to encourage new blood, most Tournament coaches in the UK are aware that we have a group of kids from a school who now attend BB tournament on a regular basis, are we going to make tournaments "Adults only"? with teams being age restricted? not the way forward.
Finally, for all the above reasons and because of the nature of the tournament I run, these models would not be welcome at Crumb-Bowl, anyone bringing them would be asked to use a different set of models, failing that, there's the door!
Buy the Nuns from Shadowforge!! great models, very thematic and the positionals are all easily identifiablenazgob wrote:And Tempest's post sums up why I have yet to buy and Amazon team even though I love the play style.

Re: Sukubus Team
This isn't about defending the women, it is about being elitist jerks.
If I turned up at one of your ''gigs'' it wouldn't be me using the team, it'd be my wife. This sort of attitude directed towards her from a bunch of knuckle dragging morons really wouldn't be acceptable.
Get over yourselves. One of main reasons why more women don't game is that gamers treat women as being a different species.
Stop worrying about what might offend them so that you can leap up on to some pedestal of your own building over a non-issue and treat them as people instead.
And don't give me ''what Tempest said'' by way of a defence. Going out and getting the one female you know to back up your argument is pretty weak. She doesn't like them. Fine. I myself actually don't very much.
My wife and all the mates she was out with last night think this is a pretty cool team though. It appeals to some of them far more than most of the ''stupid'' models they see.
So, well, I guess I'm going to be influenced by what women think rather than what internet geeks think on their behalf.

No-one is going to change anyone's mind here. We all have our firmly held opinions, and if rational debate didn't cut it, getting all angry and starting to call people names certainly won't.
What's the point? Unless you feel better for getting it off your chest.

Re: Sukubus Team
Damn right. And well done to the girl who sculpted them.
I just think it's sad when men tell women what and how to think.
"I find this offensive to women".
"Excuse me I'm the sculptor and I'm female".
"Shush love I'm defending you here".
This thread has done more to make Ruth feel awkward around BB players than anything else. She's sat here beside me reading through and saying how previously she'd never thought how blokes at tournaments view her but now has to think about it.
