Discuss Fantasy football-style board games - GW's Blood Bowl, Impact!'s Elfball, Privateer Press' Grind, Heresy's Deathball, etc. THIS IS NOT AN NFL FANTASY FOOTBALL SITE!

several rules? I thought it was just animosity that got the chop? which others did he chop?
Replied on the other thread ... interestingly enough in reply quickly to Garion. Jervis did not delete the rules for either Animosity or Fan Favourite from the CRP even though they don't make sense with the other stuff he deleted.

Restarted my system (for other reasons) and I can still download both.

Could be a US/UK thing - you're probably routed to a local server based on your location. Guess the files are still on the UK/Europe one and not the US.
If anyone has access to a proxy, they could test it if they were bored enough.

There are no GW Canada servers I believe? Did GW Canada get shut down?

Just tried both at work, and accessed them fine, so Vanguard might be correct.

The other problem is that the Courts generally extend IP protection than restrict them (see Mouse, Mickey... ).
Last time I checked, copyright had a fixed duration in theory; and renewal was a thing of the past. In practice, it's forever as by new laws and treaties (legislative power, not judicial), it keeps on growing retroactively so nothing will probably fall into public domain anymore. And by means of international treaties and use as bargaining tool in other hardly related treaties, the effects can be considered mostly worldwide.
In the interest of science - "expunged" down here in the southern hemisphere too.

Its the final nail in the coffin I suppose. On the plus side the BB community is pretty self sufficient so I cant see it hurting BB much. The others on the other hand have been dealt a crippling blow. Im just now trying to get into BFG and only downloaded half the PDF's before they were 'expunged'. Massive 2 fingers up to GW im selling my 40k to fund playing the games they dont support any more.

4 catchers and a thrower with hail mary pass, what could possibly go wrong?

It won't hurt anyone who is already part of the playing core, no. Random gamer on the street now has no way of finding out about the game from its manafacturer and IP owner.
I would think the other communities probably feel much the same as you do. They have their devotees (Yakromunda) that are by and large self-sufficient, if a bit smaller.
