Doesn't stop the Icepelt being hosted here, or on the NAF facebook site though.
But yeah, not good for any of the SGs.

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

That's the two pages per page version which can be hard to read. The single page version is this one :garion wrote:here is CRP - http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_Cus ... s_Pack.pdf

Joe ... I don't get your point (and normally I do)lawquoter wrote:I doubt you'll get that rulebook version, IP worries and all
The NAF does not have the right to host the CRP on their site ... they were never given that right by GW. So there is no legal difference between the NAF hosting the CRP (which was not a document that would make a new user want to play the game ... it looks HORRIBLE) or the Icepelt rulebook which IS the CRP with the graphics added back in so that it looks good. (and actually there are several rules in the Icepelt book that Jervis deleted because he got heavy handed with the sloppy chop job he did. If the NAF is going to host the rulebook ... sure would be nice to have the one with all the rules).
So ... I'm going to agree with Slinky ... if the NAF is going to host a document ... it should be the one that would make a new player finding it think this was a cool game and be able to discover the story and the background of the game (which is what made me what to play Blood Bowl). To host the CRP instead of the Icepelt when legally they have no different rights to either is to actively discourage new players from finding out about the game and why it has stayed around for so long.

Re: Granny Wendy finally did it
I think, based on seeing how GW react, they'll be likely more upset over the "fluff" and the artwork. It's a gut feeling, sure, but it's the "brand" that the behemoth seeks protect. A horrible looking rule book that wouldn't entice the average table top gamer? Likely skates by. I guess I'm not predicting how the chips fall in an official ruling, but the psychology of an over litigious greedy wench. Certainly your points on the contents of the rules themselves are right on spot.GalakStarscraper wrote:Joe ... Re: Granny Wendy finally did it
So Granny has finally stopped pretending to care about the specialist games range.
Not too bothered. Blood Bowl has been kept alive by other people / companies for a long time now anyway.
The last time I bought GW BB product was when the most recent human team was released. My most recent purchases have been from Impact!, Tritex, Heresy etc.
Now, it does mean there's one less website with BB stuff on it (and I acknowledge it's more important because it's the company that owns the IP) but in terms of attracting new blood into our fold, the BB area on the GW site wasn't great anyway.
Blood Bowl (as owned and run by GW) is dead, long live Blood Bowl (as played and enjoyed by all of us).*
*Which as I mentioned before has been the case for a long time now.
Just my opinion.

Re: Granny Wendy finally did it
Just checked and the NAF button for CRP goes to a document that does not exist.sann0638 wrote:The NAF site is now hosting the CRP to keep it stable, hopefully it doesn't cause problems.
So still hoping for a link to the Icepelt book to replace it.
