If I understand correctly, it wasn't here looks that made here so special, but the fact that they had a nice conversation with her (or something like that) and that her presence made the tourney a bit more special...

That's what I understood (in the end) was the point...

If it's not and it was her looks they liked after all, I'd suggest they all go to get a pair of glasses real fast...

You're doing it the french way here. You're way too much cartesian about that. You can't dissociate one part from the other to rationalize it.
It was all about the way she stood, what she said and what she didn't...(i'm too much of a poet
