Oh why not.

I'm Dave. Yes, another one. I'm 37. Married with a 7 year old son. I live in Uppsala, Sweden (which is an hour or so north of Stockholm.). I'm originally from Buckinghamshire in England. I moved over here after coming here as an exchange student and meeting my wife-to-be at a party.

I'm a biomedical scientist at the University hospital here, specialising in Genetic analyses. I test DNA from blood samples for common mutations for a variety of disorders.

I've been playing BB for more than 20 years, since the polystyrene pitch days, though I don't play much these days.
I'm mostly playing Warmachine and X wing now. My nickname here is from the name I gave the coach of my first ever BB team. What little other free time I have I mostly gets spent watching Football, American Football and Ice Hockey.

I'm Massimo. 36 single. I live in Forlì in the noth-est part of Italy.
I got a degree in law and I work for the Italian Central Bank as a bank overseer, with much enphasis on the juridical side of the job.

I've been a comic addict until 2000 when I turned in a minature addict.
I started playing Bloodbowl in september 2009 in a local league. In october I had converted/bought all of 24 teams.
I currently own 92 teams.
I did my first Naf tourney in december 2009 and I've not stopped since.
I play on average more then 200 BB matches a year.
I've been the first Italian to do the 24.

I play in my local league, the Wild League and I'm the "coach" of the Wild Team at team tournaments.
I'm the current RTC for northern Italy and the Italian Stunty Champion.

I'm quite active in the italian Blood Bowl community and I'm usually behind the most absurd initiatives.
I founded the Psycho Fan Club. :)
The most recent one is the "Hunt for the Old Ones".
I took the Impact Chtulhu Mithos miniatures and I associated 6 of the best italian players with 6 Old Ones (Farina is Chtulhu, Roller is Yog-Sothoth, Dirold is Nyarlathotep, Beppe is Dagon, Spartako is Shub-Niggurath, Yena is Hastur). If you take away from one of them 10 Naf points in 2014 you win the painted miniature.

Due to a change of attitude and greater relax I'm also experiencing a recent success at tourneys.
All's good.
I'll attend the next NAFC. I hope to meet some of you there.

I'm Doug

42 as of Monday, married, no kids. I work for the local cable company, from home, which gives me ample browsing time around work.

Live in Las Vegas.

Started playing 2nd edition, when I lived in southern California.. did a few pre-naf large convention tourneys.. moved up to northern Cali and ran a league for 5+ years with hybrid 2nd/3rd edition rules (we got 3rd edition and started playing before we read all the rules changes closely, then decided to ignore some of them).. dropped out of he game for about 12 years and picked it up again after the Cyanide game came out, discovered the NAF-thing that happened while I was away and played in what tourneys I can make in the southwest USA, also making a Chaos Cup a few years ago.

Currently running a small open league around Las Vegas and making another run at hosting a tournament here in June.

Real name Andrew, chose Waldorf back when I used to play a lot of Quake competitively (that ages me!). Am 41, now live in Lancaster in the UK. Have played TT since first edition (1987), but after a frenzy of Dungeon Bowl in the early nineties endured a big hiatus until Fumbbl about eight years ago. This does not mean I am any good, as anyone who has played me will attest.

I worked in the video games business for ten years. Last position was as Head of Development at SEGA Europe, where Football Manager was my main project. I started at Eidos, where my main titles were Championship Manager and the first release in the Hitman franchise. Hitman was going to get canned but I managed to convince them not to and worked like a dog with the dev team to turn it around.

I retrained to be a Secondary School teacher in 2006, when I realised I would never see my newly arrived twins if I kept working in the video games business. They are now eight, and my son is showing a real interest in Bloodbowl, so I've just commissioned a new team to be painted for him. You can see it here. I have no painting skills whatsoever, and envy those that do.

I am also Co-Commissioner at the mighty UKBBL - a Cyanide based league. I get sad when people diss the Cyanide client so much, since although it is far from perfect, it is the most fun I have ever had playing video games. I would have still had my money's worth if I'd paid ten times as much. I would have done many things differently if it had been my project though.

I have attended one NAF tourney but hope to attend more, play in my local TT league, and help arrange two TT tourneys a year for the 140 coaches who play at the UKBBL. About 30 attend. My favourite TT teams are Khemri, Chaos Dwarf, Halflings and Humans. I'm about to start playing Slann with some newly painted figures, so maybe soon I can add them to the list.

I guess I am also a little bit CDO (OCD with all the letters in alphabetical order) since I have now edited this post about five times to get each paragraph to be the same number of lines in length on my Chromebook screen. I better not check it on my PC monitor or I'll be here all night. This thread is a positive step. We all need to remember we are here because we love the same thing.

Appart from being your good lost twin (you're a lawyer so, obviously, you are the evil twin)...my name is Isaac (that becomes shortened to Xac quite often) and here in TFF, I am more a reader than a writter.

I live in a town near barcelona (spain), studied a Psychology degree and a master degree in Human Resources, and I am nowadays working for the Ministry of Labour.

I started playing Bloodbowl 14 years ago and, since then, I am a usual player (playing 3 tabletop leagues by now, so one game per week and one tournament per month is my ratio)

Hi there all,

I’m William. 34 years old, Belgian, married with 2 lovely daughters (4y and 20 months).
Geekyness started quite young for me; age 7-8 I suppose with countless games of Heroquest. Around the age of 10, a British expat family living around the corner got me into GW games and we started having regular games of Space Hulk mainly. I then picked up 40K (playing Eldar). The Blood bowling microbe started with the 3rd edition.

At the same time in secondary school, I also started getting involved into role-playing with a different group of friends and it took over most of my time (partially because there were no fresh opponents for Bloodbowl). RPG quickly expanded beyond being a player and game master on tabletop (AD&D, White Wolf series, Fading Suns and Agone mainly). After a few years a players in various organisations we created Phenix asbl in 1999, our LARP organisation with which we held 2-3 events a year gathering between 50 to 130 people each time until a couple of years back when real life definitely caught up (kids you know…).

I only found out there was an actual BB community around 2002 when finding Talkbloobowl.com. Lurking there was nice an easy; the NAF was still one bridge too far. Also, since I was (pretending to) studying translating-interpreting at the time, there was no gaming next to the RPG stuff.

Played some games on Fumbbl for a while and then (this is 2009) became aware of the Belgian tournament scene. Since I try to attend 2 tournaments a year. I can’t justify more to the wife to be and our daughters, also because there are still many other activities taking up time. I have the tendency to start things, learn the basics and then move on to the next fun thing. This is why/how following things end up on my “cv”; took theatre make-up and special effects classes, took Shiatsu courses, took beekeeping courses, am keeping bees at the moment,…RPG’s (in a limited way currently) and blood bowl however are things that stick for 20 years already!
I’m slowly getting to the point where I own all 24 teams, or at least have the basic material to convert them, but play only Dark Elf, Skaven, Chaos Dwarf and goblins on a regular basis.

Real life is quite busy with the wife and kids, with renovating the house we bought 2 years ago and also my job developing en environmental performance improvement and monitoring programme for factories (mainly in Asia).... so too little time to play these days apart from in our Brussels league, which is running nicely at the moment.

Hi, thats Ruediger, aka Traveller

i´m living near Mainz, close to Frankfurt, Germany and i´m just trying to survive my 50th year on this planet.
I can tell you, not easy to do with my 5 year old son and his mother!

After 10 years of Jesuit bording school, German Army time was easy and after this I studied communication design at a technical college.

Work:
Since over 20 years i´m working for the German TVstation ZDF. Over years i did the graphicworks for different departments of the TVstation like Childrens News,
Foreign Countries News and Sports-magazins. Some years in between i worked for the ZDF daughterchannel 3sat, but 2011 i was ordered back again to the ZDF
and atm i´m doing the graphics for Childrens News "logo" again. I´m working with Windows- and Macintosh-Computer, using mostly Adobe software
like Aftereffects, Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Curious-Maps-Software.

The younger days:
At the beginning I glued and painted a lot of plastic Airfix, Rewell and Tamiya 1:35 scale models together.
I started painting and collecting metall miniatures about 1994. I bought the Games Workshop game " Spacehulk ", played it a lot
and i didnt like the plastic Terminators. So i bought some of the metall GW 40k Terminators and here the mess started.
Now i own about over 6000 miniatures, including most of the old GW Squats. I guess, i got enough miniatures to paint when i retire.
Maybe to much so i´m teaching my son now to paint miniatures, too.

Blood Bowl:
In the year 2000, while looking for lost stuff in my flat, i discovered my old painted Blood Bowl teams again i never played with.
And, while checking different websites about the Blood Bowl game, i started collecting only Blood Bowl miniatures for over 4 years
until i got all possible old and new official GW Blood Bowl miniatures for my collection. After i visited the Talkbloodbowl quite often,
i was told by the members not only to collect the miniatures, no, i should actualy play games with them! So i started playing 2003
with the visit of my first tournament "Morgs Mannheim Massaker "and started playing at international tournaments, too.
Before i moved house I was also playing league games at my hometown league for some years.

The website:
October 2004 i started my own Fantasy Football website, which the most of you here will know. After finished the GW collection
(ok, still one mini is missing!) I m updating the website with new teams of various companies, collector items and photos of tournaments i visit.

The nickname Traveller:
Another hobby is/was to travel foreign countries. In my schooldays i used to travel the European countries and doing Long Distance Walking mostly in GB.
Since 1992 i was backpacking for about five weeks every year. Mostly Asia and Latinamerica countries. These travels are on hold atm because of a family reasons.

Working a bit less this year i hope i will find some more time for family, painting and starting a new hobby shooting bow and pistol.

Hi all,

My name is Richard Andrew aka Virral. I'm 35 with two kids (6 and 3), I work in Unversity Administration and you can normally find me in the fine city of Canberra, Australia. I actually spend most of my time on Ausbowl.com, the Australian BB Community, but I do lurk here quite a bit too :)

I actually came to Blood Bowl and gaming in general about 10 years ago now, I had always been interested in board games but short of monopoly and risk my circle of friends were never really interested in that sort of thing when I was younger. Fast forward to when I was in my mid-20's, and my now wife informed me that I needed to find a hobby and get out of the house now and then!

I took the hint, and decided to try and find a group of people who met regularly to play board games. After some hunting I met up with a couple of guys called Geoff who were interested in all sorts of games, and in particular had been developing an interest in Blood Bowl recently. They got me started, and through them I met Doubleskulls around the time that the Vault rules were being tested (ahead of LRB 5). He set up a league to get games played, and I never looked back!

Much to my surprise (and that of everyone who knew me), I actually won my first tournament through sheer luck... a feat I have still not managed to equal although I've had plenty of podium finishes since then and I pretend that makes it alright  That was the original Eucalyptus Bowl in 2005, and these days I am the main organiser of the event, which I'm proud to say has grown to be the largest tournament in the Southern Hemisphere.

On the hobby side of things, I started out believing that I was incapable of painting a team but now I do a halfway decent job at it. I've definitely hit my ceiling though, and while I probably could improve further if I really had a mind to do so, I'm happy with the current standard I can produce vs the time it takes to produce them. I'm currently working through a massive backlog of unpainted miniatures from various kickstarters over the last year, trying to get through the entire backlog in 2014 if I can.

I've also made loads of custom boards over the years, which is what got me into painting first (I realised once I started painting scenery that miniatures really couldn't be that much harder). Here is a photo of me slaving away on a board while the foreman makes sure I don't slack off.

Image

It's an exciting time for me in real life. I'm taking a break from work thanks to Long Service Leave, and I'm using the time to get more active, fitter and healthier. I've been ignoring my health for far too long now so it's really great to finally be doing something about it!
