... and just to be on the safe side then, we are going to refer to every bar and café in Amsterdam as 'De Schutter' that weekend.

Just confirming my rumoured appearance. I'll be there, so will Woete who's also on the list of rumoured coaches.
Not yet sure what I'll play but it's going to be more Sjapie Mayhem

I am only interested in watching superbowl in de schutter if they have a decent screen and not the one they use by the bar as the only way you can watch that all night is if you are behind the bar. If mot then I will probably be in cocos outback at rembrantplein.

Not sure what they'll have screen-wise. But assuming we'll end up there earlier in the weekend we should know by sunday.

With the matches for day two about to kick off in a little under three hours, there is still an awful lot that can happen.
Lycos will be playing on table one against Sjapie (both being seperated one tournament point from one another) and SirSebstar and the-Sage will be playing on table two (both two points behind Lycos). For the title of Dutch Champion, JaM and Nuffles_Pump are at 6th and 8th position (both three points behind SirSebstar and the-Sage).
Round 4 will make for some interesting games...

Just got home from the dutch open. Really enjoyed it and very happy to walk away with most touchdowns (12) and most casualties (19) with my skaven. Overal third is also nice.
Only Dave's heavy handedness was a bridge too far to get my name imprinted on Amsterdam soil.
Much thanks to all my opponents, and I specifically want to thank Kwék for a real fun game, and the show of sportsmanship from him.

Back home myself and I'm pleased to say my first ever Dutch Open was not a disappointment! Had a lot of fun and every opponent I played was top notch banter, even Lycos
Louis - completely forgot you'd suggested getting the train from muiderport (?), I walked into Amsterdam to take photos and only remembered when I was on the train to the airport :/

Had a good time, after a win-loss-win on Saturday I had my worked carved out for me on Sunday,... had to win them all!
Sunday's first game vs. Pippy was ups-and-downs, with a hobgob failing a go for it at the end of the first half to score 1-0, and at the end of the second half him skulling with a reroll on a blitz, giving me the chance to score 1-0, finally (IIRC).
So far I had scored 3-4 casualties each game, so I was doing well. Unfortunatly, last game I only managed to score 1 casualty vs Undead (while he made several, even fouling a CD, getting send off, KILLING the CD and raising it as a zombie...!
) and lost 2-0.
Meanwhile Jasper (next to me, on table1) also lost, but still managed to score enough points to become Dutch Champion. Congrats!
Loved all the games, good atmosphere, nice people,... Definately will be there next year. Great to see a lot of foreign coaches turn up again to go to A'dam for a few games of BB. And a big thanks to the organizers for wel... organizing! Well done!

Re: Dutch Open 2014 (Amsterdam, 1-2 februari)
I, together with my Goblins, definitely had my highs and lows over the weekend...
From a closely-fought draw against Geggster's Skaven and turn-sixteen 0-1 loss against dr. rudolf von richten's Orcs (next time, Gadget, next time...), towards an utter amount of luck versus the Dwarves of Bjorgrim (two turns failing to pick up the ball with a Runner, followed by my Pogoer picking it up in a tackle zone and running off for the winning TD), an unimaginable amount of bad luck against the Lizardmen of Mur (setting up for an OTT attempt, to then see a pitch invasion knocking both my Trolls and my Fanatic down...
), as well as a second-half trashing by the Amazons of Brendan.
Especially that last game versus Bjorgrim was a bit of an odd one. As Dwarves are the anti-team for my Goblins, I was in a sour mood to end the weekend with that match-up (especially after the ***** of a dicing I had to sit through in the previous game against Mur), but with a rather ridiculous half/die-blitz at turn 7, knocking his Runner down and watching the crowd throw the ball back towards the line of scrimmage actually gave a bit of hope. Despite the succesfull hand-off from his Troll Slayer towards his Blitzer (without any team re-rolls used!) and the 0-1 that followed, his armour or injury rolls were low enough, that I could field the majority of my team for the second half.
During the second half, I was able to lure the Dwarves into one side of the pitch, to rush off into the other direction for the score... but as said, the 4+ pick up, 3+ dodge, 2+ 2+ GFI leap (where I only had to use my final team re-roll at the actual leap attempt) that led to the 2-1 victory was sheer luck...
