Ah, but if they just made new minis, and left the rules the same, the old minis would still be adequate, and many (most?) people who already have the old ones would not buy the new ones. That just wouldn't do at all!
Couldn't agree more. All the talk of another (UNNECESSARY) elf team is very depressing to me. Fine replace the dodgey High Elves. I'd buy the new figs just because they rock. But a new team is Crud. :pissed:

They say they want to move away from WHFB, and as far as minis go I'm happy with that. Ogre and Vampire teams are part of fluff so they're all good. But, why then does the undead go the way of the Dodo for KHEMRI?!? Where were they ever mentioned in the fluff. If this is an alternate/parallel universe then why are the mixed Undead suddenly not "right" anymore? :pissed:

Now I like the similarities in the fluff between BB and WHFB but not to the point of destroying tried, tested, and beloved parts of the game to reinforce it. That said, I am also against new teams which do not play significantly differently to the current set. The 15 official teams at the moment cover a wide and pretty comprehensive range of play. Well done JJ and laterly the BBRC for that. But now they're sqeezing in more where they do not fit. Better that then to cut the old I suppose, but still very disheartening.

Final thought, Munkey said
I realise that they are only experimental but I think a lot more thought could have gone into the development of the original teams in most cases.
And I would agree. Someone said in the new Ogre team thread that the useless idea for the team printed in the BBMag had put them off buying the team. I concur. If the team had been anywhere near decent (ie powerful but on the whole crud at the game (like the fluff)) then I would definately have ordered them. I would love to own my own Oldheim Ogres. But now I think I will wait before investing in these expensive minis until I am satisfied with a good rules set. I may only be one voice, but thats still one sale lost due to rushed out teams, designed to try to, ironically enough, sell me more minis. :o :(

I don't like the fact that the Undead is being dropped in favour of 3 teams cos it follows the fluff. In that case, why hasn't the Chaos team being split, why do we still have Norse and not Chaos Marauders, and why aren't the Bretonnoans playing BB?

I'm not saying I want al these things to happen, but using the fluff to agrue for one thing and not another is stupid.

P.S. YES, rulebook with index, dammit!
