seen painted teams go for a lot more than that

some people don't like or can't paint to a standard that matches, so they will pay for someone else to do it

i remember a guy sold a wood elf team on ebay, he split it into 2 main parts + a jordell freshbreeze. the jordell model went for $70 and the 2 parts went for about $220 each

it was also the best painted bb team i'd ever seen.

That's a full 16 piece team nicely painted. The models alone are going to push $50 by themselves, depending on where you buy them. If you're going through GWMO they will at least. That means the paint only cost $20. I think the seller got ripped off. Oh well, that's what a painted team costs, I guess.

GWUS prices: Team Box $40, Headsplitter $15, 4 additional minis $4 each means $71 for the minis alone!

The paint job is not that bad, so i think they should reach $100 easily, a fair price would be $120.

I think it's impossible to make money from painting on EBay if your not one of the best and have won one golden demon at least or you paint at incredible speed. If you calculate just $5/h for painting, my teams paint job would cost around $400.

I guess this one will rise the last few hours.

I don't think $120 is a fair price. Think about the time spent on the painting.

I wouldn't sell a team with a $50 painting bonus.

Imagine you spent 20 hours painting. Witch, IMHO is not very much. $50 will amount to just $2.50 per hour....

well i think you may be using different definitions of "fair"...such a tough concept to nail down anyway.

a decent market price might be about $120ish. that's what the guy could expect to hope to get give or take. so in a sense that's fair.

if you figure the cost of the figs plus an hourly "paint wage" that would be another price, which could be constituted as "fair". of course coming up with a "fair" price for someone's time painting is very much a subjective element and hard to nail down in and of itself.

for me fair is whatever ebay says it is. if the guy was willing to sell it for that, and the buyer was willing to pay that for it, then it's fair for them. :)

ain't capitalism wunnerful? :)

i'll let you guys in on a little secret. the minis only cost him a little over $20. how do i know this? cause i play a game of bb @ his apt 4 days ago. =)
he paints REALLY fast, and he doesn't work right now. this team probably only took him a few days to paint, if that long.

i asked him if he could do some painting for me a couple of days ago and he said he had too much on his plate right now. maybe you could talk him into it later though. he is Red Orc on the TBB forums.
