Two updates: firstly, Leipziger and I will be playing as a pair for the weekend.

Secondly, I am partaking in Movember this year. As such, I should have the start of an awesome moustache by the time I arrive at this tournament. A friend of mine wants to come down for the tourney, so i'll be bringing him along. He had a NAF membership 2 or 3 years back to play a tourney in Norwich, but hasn't rejoined so I assume I can just sign him up again? His Naf name was Cactus (real name John McPhillips) I was going to send payment for him, so will just send the extra fiver.

He's played Blood Bowl before, but very irregularly and not since that tourney and ended just under mid-table for the tourney we went to. He's not a +200 coach - but it'd be nice to be paired with someone I know.

Looking at the changes with pairings etc, I assume that means that you might stand a good chance of playing someone on day 2 when you go in your pairs that you played on day 1 when you were separate?

Ah - that is a good spot, Flossy. I thought I'd covered that loophole in the rules as written, but it seems that an earlier draft snuck onto that first post than the one with the clarification in.

Day 2 is Swiss within Swiss - so if you are drawn with someone you've already played day 1, we'd simply flip the Swiss within your pair so you get someone new. In the (very) unlikely event that you'd played both of the coaches in the opposing pair, we'd simply use the magic of Swiss in the overall draw to get you a different game.

The OP here already made it onto the NAF site, so I presume we need Pippy or Joe to rubber stamp the above amendment. But I can't see why they'd not...?

As for your friend, great news! The extra fiver gets him his membership renewal. Lycos, Joe and Bren will be with us, so he'll get dice and renewed.
