I assume you mean at the World Cup? Score was not used, an entirely new specialist programme had to be created such was the enormity of processing 240 games per round in 20 mins. Score cannot cope with that.lunchmoney wrote:How did the dutch guys do it?Darkson wrote:I could, but the idea was Swiss within Swiss.

I think he means the Bubble, which used the rules but as a singles event.

Re: ARBBL Pick'n'Mix Team Event, Andover, 23rd/24th November
Hekdar - belated PM sent.
Ok, I've used a clean install of Score, and everything seems to be working ok now (apart from the test-run ended up with ARBBL B pipping ARBBL A for the title - that's not possible!), so that's one crisis averted.
Next couple of days I'm going to send all the captains an email where they can enter the races the team is playing on each day. Sooner I get them in the better, but I MUST have them by Friday 22nd, else I'll randomly roll to see which race coaches will play on the day (as per rulepack).

Updated to here.
Also, not sure if I'll be able to make an evening meal on the Saturday, I've got a lot of stuff to do over-night for the tournament.
The fact that it's "Day of the Doctor" has absolutely nothing to do with this.
Oh, and the team sheets are still due to go out, just had trouble with Word.

Re: ARBBL Pick'n'Mix Team Event, Andover, 23rd/24th November
Hi All,
there are 4 of us coming over from Bristol for the Pick-n-Mix.
We were going to do a lot of driving, there/back both days; but thought it would be good to explore some options e.g. hotels a bit further out etc.
So just to see if it would be possible... would anyone in/near Andover have floor space to accomodate 4 sleeping bags (and occupants) on the Saturday night? We are all house trained and (fairly) normal but I can't promise no snoring.
Thank you for consideraing this.
Dave

@Loki - would love to help, but even after being married to a gamer for 20 years, she still doesn't like it, and won't allow me to do that.
Sad news: Two of three of the Terry Ling's have dropped out. Neither Matt nor Gazza can make it now (so Glow will need to look somewhere else for his win). Not sure whether Lycos will drop out or put a team together himself, as I only sent him a email last night, and I guess he's not back in the routine after the EB.

I think Plan A at the moment is to get a cheap room or two in Newbury which will cut down the driving to something more reasonable. I know what my other half would say if I suggested 4 lads came and kipped on the floor so no worries on that score

Re: ARBBL Pick'n'Mix Team Event, Andover, 23rd/24th November
There are a few cheap places in Andover - I think there were a couple listed on the NAF thread. Not sure how they'd compare with Newbury prices.
There's a Premier Inn in Andover as well, but honestly no idea on the prices there at all.
Wouldn't hurt to give the Andover Tourist Information a ring though - number's in the rule pack. They should be able to suggest some alternatives.

You pick them up one by one and place them in the Casualty Box, holding back the tears from turn 4 onwards
