Not really.

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

Re: Worst team in blood bowl?
Dark Elves are one of the best teams, period. Even having them brought up in a conversation about the worst teams is mind-boggling. I personally think they are the best team for tournament play and top 5 for league play. My opinion, but I bet very few people (if any) would put them outside of the top 50% for either tournament or league play.

I agree with everyone of you, Dark Elves are one of the best teams in Blood Bowl. All that I was talking about was skill progression. Ok, nothing personal.
Now I suppose the discussion would be for the best team in Blood Bowl. Chaos comes to mind after a ton of skill ups.

Orcs, Dwarves, Wood Elf, or (maybe) Undead. Depends on the context.
In a low TV tournament or young league, Amazon and Norse join the top of that elite list.

Re: Worst team in blood bowl?
In matchmaking overall I'd say Lizards, Amazons and Undead have the best win%. The vast majority of games take place at low-mid TV though.
In MM at high TV all the elven teams do very well indeed, as do Skaven when they get there.
In perpetual leagues it's a good mix, as far as I've seen. We just had necro win our top league (tiered league with 210 teams, promotion/relegation between tiers) and have had WE (7 - 5 of those were Flix), HE (2), DE (1), Chaos (2), Orcs (2), Necro (1) and Lizards (4) win over our 19 seasons. Next season sees a good mix of teams in that top division, too, so it could end up anywhere: even Vampires!

Halflings are good against high strength teams and low skilled teams. Against chaos, ogre's in some areas and chaos pact.

Re: Worst team in blood bowl?
Worst team in blood bowl... lately it seems to be whichever one I'm playing at the moment....
Last Sunday the game started in the rain, -1 fame, receiving, blitzed with zombie ko'd, then werewolf dodged on my turn 1 and double skulled his way into the KO box on initial action, beastman picked up ball in other werewolf's tackle zone, second werewolf double skulled on counterblitz and beastman scored on his turn two... then things got REALLY ugly....
Why do my dice still hate me....

Teams without Block or Tackle can really have a tough time with halflings.

In the hands of a good halfling coach maybe - an average coach with a "normal" team vs an average coach with a halfling team will more often than not be a win for the "normal" coach, even without block or tackle.

Re: Worst team in blood bowl?
In fairness halflings are stronger against that kind of team than they are against some other teams (I described this in much more detail earlier). So they might not actually be stronger than any of those teams but in terms of relative performance he is spot on.

Agreed, low TV flings with inducements can be a tricky prospect for low TV team with little blocking or ball handling skills such as Chaos or lizardmen. Those teams may well have no re-rolls due to the chef and can't block or handle the ball reliably. Halflings can be pretty tough to take down without block or tackle and are good at dodging away. If the trees, lucky fling blocks or fouls take out any opposing players then they likely won't have subs unlike the flings.SillySod wrote:In fairness halflings are stronger against that kind of team than they are against some other teams (I described this in much more detail earlier). Plus there is always the chance of a TTM TD in turn 8 or 16 to draw or win the game.

EXACTLY PUBBBLA, that is the exact thing that I am talking about. Thank you Pubbla for stating that. I think that it took a person of your rank to make others to realize that.spubbbba wrote:Agreed, low TV flings with inducements can be a tricky prospect for low TV team with little blocking or ball handling skills such as Chaos or lizardmen.
