Re: BUBBLE 2513, August 31th and September 1st, Utrecht
A small write - up before day two starts.
19 coaches came together quite early on saturday morning. The team selection was rather interesting. Out of 38 teams (each coach had to bring two teams remember) there were:
no skaven or Halfling
2 Wood Elf
5 Human
2 Nurgle
2 Chaos
2 slann
3 ogre
6 goblin
4 khemri
1 High Elf
1 Orc
1 dwarf
1 lizardmen
3 Chaos Dwarf
Quite different from usual, that was nice. Many players felt they had the best chances when not taking a tier 4 team but opting for two 'mediocre' teams in their run for glory. Mepmuff and I discussed the format beforehand and we expected that the coach that would do best with his 'second' team would make a good shot at the title. It seems we were right.
After four games Da_Great_MC is leading quite comfortably after winning four games. Nufle's_Pimp is chasing him but already is al loss behind. Several players are behind that having drawn twice or lost and drawn (the point system allows for a bit of variation in this).

Interesting - for ARBBL I was imagining people would take tier 1 and tier 4. Hmm, maybe I will reconsider, especially after my goblins' glorious victory last night!

Loads of casualties, my teams suffered 25 over 6 matches, only 3 players had scored fewer than 10 casualties.

Interested in which combo's did well.

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

Re: BUBBLE 2513, August 31th and September 1st, Utrecht
Thanks a lot to Dave, Mepmuff and DukeJan for this fun tournament and Darkson for coming up with the original idea
We had a lot of unusual match ups which was a very entertaining change from other tournaments, even though mine were not that different
My matches were:
- Slann against: Chaos Dwarf (Win), Underworld (Draw), Dwarf (Loss)
- Khemri against: Human (Win), Khemri (Draw), Chaos Dwarf (Win)
Surprisingly I came second with those results, I actually expected to end up much further down the list. But that's how the BUBBLE bonus system works, and I won't complain *g*
I really hope the rules get used again next year, maybe with some amendments and I will surely try to come again. And to everyone else who wasn't there: BIG MISTAKE!!! Go there next time!!

Re: BUBBLE 2513, August 31th and September 1st, Utrecht
So the 2/3 combos did better than the 1/4 combos, which (up to this point) most of the UK coaches seem to be aiming at (apart from Globe's team, who all seem to be taking a 4/4 combo).
I wonder if this will change things?

Did some bookkeeping to see how the tiers did. General conclusion: Tier 1 underachieved, tier 3 overachieved.
W-D-L breakdown:
1 vs 1: 2-0-0
1 vs 2: 3-0-2
1 vs 3: 3-2-3
1 vs 4: 4-1-0
2 vs 2: 2-2-0
2 vs 3: 3-2-4
2 vs 4: 7-1-1
3 vs 3: 3-1-0
3 vs 4: 1-4-0
4 vs 4: 2-1-0
