Post by sann0638 »

Link below to the rumour about a new 40k skirmish game instead of the BB release.

Weird reading a thread that doesn't have 'greedy witch' themes running through it, just positive wishlisting!

Inquisition based on the 40K models is really interesting. If this is true, I even might pick this up (probably split the costs or something).
I still have 40K stuff but only for painting. I lost the time and interest to play it, it seems.

I prefer this to the toned-down BB game we MIGHT have got. On the other hand, even a toned-down BB game mioght have beefitted the community, as in more people actually interested to play the REAL game.

We'll see in november/december I guess.

From what I've heard this sounds alot like a bit of a standing jump to a large conclusion.
There was something on WD Daily about Inquisitor and a link to a special page showing models and the like.
It was intended to help shift outstanding SG stock since they've announced they are clearing those ranges out. But this was an own goal as it accidentally popularised a lot of already unavailable models, so the page and link got pulled.
That's enough for rumour mongers who didn't see the page to jump to a conclusion.

I could of course be mistaken, as always, but I'd trust the guy I was talking to over internet rumours.
I actually hope it's true though. It could be a good game, certainly a good concept. And as regards BB I'm probably not alone in thinking we're better off where we are now than if a self contained board game replaces the pdf.'s we have now.

Actually, this could just have been stuck in the other rumour thread.

It could have Sann, but if there is any truth in the idea of an Inquisitor skirmish game in 28mm then it's cool news and deserves it's own thread.
I'm not a 40k-the-game fan and never really have been, but background of this type, hell yes I'm a fan.

This isn't a rumour you understand just a bit of personal wishlisting, but there is a part of me thinks this could be a development of Kill Team published in WD.
The Kill Team events and rulespacks have proven insanely popular for the venue, WHW, and are clearly worthy of expansion to include more cool ideas and more scenarios.

Could be a possibility. Blanche has appeared lately in many numbers of the WD showing Inquisitor-type conversions. And as some people say in the other forum, the sales of skirmish games such as Sedition wars and equals have seemed to caught GW's attention.

Annoyingly, I do find myself getting quite excited by the possibility. The very last thing I need is more unpainted clutter !)

GW connected owner of one of the LGSs mentioned this to me the other day.
I've heard too much about the inquisitor rumour, which makes FAR more sense than a BB rerelease, to not believe it.
He also dropped an interesting BB tidbit in my direction, but it's pure rumour, doesn't belong here etc.
(I'll post it in the relevant thread).

+1. Haven't played 40k for 2 or 3 editions, but would be happy to pick up a 40k- skirmish game, especially with all the Dead zone stuff I have coming.

I'd actualy play it as well...seeing as it occurs to me that you could probably crowbar Hive gangs into it a'la necromunda, and I have a whole load of Heresy's awesome ganger models.
