Re: Cool One-Off Halfling sculpt on BB Tactics
Hard call, they're both great teams, high quality talented sculpts.
They're very different- 'estalian team' has lots of character with intricate detail in the uniforms, the ramos 'pro-team' is a simpler, basic uniform style with some great dynamic poses (only 1 pose I don't care much for, the rest I love).
Between the two I'm drawn more to the Ramos team for the tighter visual cohesion and the broad smooth areas of the uniform look fun to paint.
I also tend to favor sculpts that I can 'make my own' for picking a style and team theme, and the Estalian team already has it's own very strong theme: a good theme, but is pre-selected.
But I do like them both, hard to predict which would sell better.

I suspect I'm more inclined towards Poncho's team, but in all truth I think they are both great teams and we are lucky to have such a high quality choice in the coming weeks.. if the scale lines up I could see me mixing both sculptors work into one team tbh...

How come we wait years for a decent Halfling team and then 2 come along at once?
Also why can’t more manufacturers take a leaf out of the Eastalian Halfling book and do teams like that? Whilst they have a unique style they actually look like Bloodbowl players.
Far too many teams I see rely on stupid gimmicks, giving the team costumes, like making cowboy orcs or spaceman elves. The models often look nice and have some novelty value but have nothing to do with Bloodbowl.

Love it!
I'll be buying that one, putting a sword in his hand and put him in with my fantasy skirmish halfling militia!

This makes me very happy! I like both teams, but I really like Poncho's team. It makes me want to learn how to play halflings!txapo wrote:Poncho's facebook said he has sold the team to be indie gogo campaign with WM:
I am eagerly waiting for the indie gogo details!
I would prefer high quality plastic, resin, or plastic / resin hybrid. Lighter and less risk (in my experience) of chipping. However, I'm planning on getting this team regardless of how it is produced.

I prefer the footballish armour of Poncho's, and I really like the guy doing the Usain Bolt pose, but I really like these guys as well, especially the "blitzer" with the helmet. They look tremendously fun to paint and are very dynamic. At the moment Poncho gets the nod because he's made a Treeman (or two I think), but if Sergus can sculpt a great tree (how hard can it be really) I reckon he might steal it back for me.
Either way there's two fantastic halfling teams on the way, which is a shame in a way because they're hideously uncompetitive - although very instructive.

Hello, guys, I'm the one doing that 2º team of Halflings ( the Imperial/Estalian/Bretonian ). I agree this is insane, but, well, if Willy wants 2 teams of useless Halflings, he will get them XD I'd prefer to do Dwarfs, but...

You won't win a lot of games with them, no matter how many teams you use, but it will be great to paint them, that's sure ;]
P.S. I'm trying to upload the number 11 and Poggy Baconbreath. Let me know if you can see them.
