Team England Site - reminder

Post by Pipey »

Dear English NAF members...

Just a reminder about this site: teamengland.freeforums.org, one of whose functions is to facilitate discussion around the English team for Eurobowl.

It's been quiet on there lately so thought it was worth a reminder.

One of the things being discussed is the way the team is chosen for each Eurobowl. The whole English community is involved with this so all opinions from any English NAF member will be gratefully received. A reminder too that there will be an election for next year's captain before next Spring, where all English NAF members will be able to vote.

Cheers
Brendan

Thanks for keeping this presence up, Dave and Bren.

Simon, can we move this to the 'Upcoming tournaments - Britain' section? I've started trying to get a presence in as many English league forums as possible (with varying levels of success, I must admit) to try and spread the Eurobowl word - but it would be nice to maintain something on TFF visible to English coaches. I'm not sure how many stray into the EB section out of habit. Thanks!

BUMP!

A month or so from selection, and the team England site is filling up with lots of information about the Eurobowl / EurOpen events; flight routes and costings, tournament location and entry fee, hotel rates, etc. Anyone interested in joining us on this fabulous Blood Bowling holiday should now have all of the necessary information to budget and plan (and put their hand up for selection if they’d like). And if you don’t, you know where I am to ask!

Even if you’re not interested in joining us, please feel free to come and nose around the site, we honestly don’t bite! It’s always nice to talk BB, and it would be great for the site to have a little more English BB chatter and banter outside of the Eurobowl / EurOpen events. It’s your team and your site, so please come and get stuck in!

Thanks!

Phil.

Time for a rather inelegant BUMP! I think.

On the 11th of May, I will be formally identifying our eight representatives for 2013. For those that are still considering throwing their hats into the ring, the clock is ticking! I’d like all interested parties to make themselves known by the end of April.

The team England site continues to be your one stop information shop for travel and accommodation for those of you handsome and clever enough to be coming on this trip with us regardless of selection (!), and as more becomes available, it will all be listed there. There is also an interesting discussion ongoing regarding this captaincy lark, when it starts, how it is conducted, etc, and I encourage anyone with the slightest interest in this or future years to look in and leave an opinion (even if that is 'stop getting up my nose on the internet'!). It’s your team and your forum; don’t be backwards in coming forwards (and I’m fed up of the sound of my own voice!).

I look forward to seeing everyone at the NAFC, and please make sure you hassle me with as many EurOpen questions as possible. I look forward to being a horrendous Vienna pimp for the entire weekend!

Phil.

Hello Phil,

I may be interested in future years but I need a bit more experience at tournies first.

I will keep my eyes posted on the england site to see who is chosen

Hi Ade,

Music to my ears! If we can sow the seeds for future years, so much the better. Feel free to introduce yourself / speak up over there too, injections of fresh ideas are always welcome. ;)

Selection for the Eurobowl has come and gone, and the team is set for Vienna!

Congratulations to England representatives Lycos, Don_Vito, Bren, Geoff, Paul, Joe and Jim, and many commiserations to those who sadly missed out this time.

I can now look forward to pestering everyone about the EurOpen and joining us on a fabbo holiday! Geoff is now flying from Manchester, and this is another route that has been added to the latest travel information thread, for your consideration.

See you at the NAFC, those that are going, please find time to ask me any Vienna related questions and congratulate your representatives with me!
