I just pointed out to my Wife she was not my Mother so I wasn't obligated to do anything for her. Not the most popular argument ever but irrefutable none the less.

I think it is highly irresponsible of you to allow a toddler out on the streets to buy his mother presents. Shame on you Merman.

Also, is there a limit on places? Don't want to turn up Saturday and find there's no space left. :)

It should be ok to turn up on the day and pay. I'll check with Alex and get him to reply regarding numbers.

Awesome, thanks! 8)

I'll post on the Friday evening if I'm planning to make it. Looking rather unlikely, but I'll see how dead I am after staying up way past my bedtime all last week and this week to get work done! :o

Please note:

There is no longer a final, no idea why we needed it for a small tournament, rookie mistake

Whoever is placed top/second place at the end of round 6 will be awarded accordingly.

And for those who haven't seen yet please check the OP for parking on Saturday.

Cheers!

Some research into the participants from one of the league's online blogs, the Goblin Sportz Newz.

In no particular order:

Hawk
Hawk has played over 100 NAF games with 6 different races, yet doesn’t have a winning record with any of them. He has claimed a handful of Most Touchdown awards – including one with Norse! :o – but will surely be looking to improve upon that record. The goblin spies I sent around suggest he may be bringing undead… surely even he can manage a decent run with them?
GSN bookie tips: top-10 finish

BillyDee
Unfortunately, the goblins could find no information about this new coach. I even tortured a few in case, but no joy.
GSN bookie tips: who?

Reaper666 (formerly known as Bush)
Has attended several tournaments over a long period of time. Has taken dark elves to all his events over the last year or two. Will he bring those pointy-eared emos along, or has he decided to go with a less annoying race? Maybe he has finally seen the light, and that is the reason for the recent NAF name change?
GSN bookie tips: never bet against dark elves

Besters
Would be the bookies favourite, as he has multiple teams ranked above 200 and several tournament wins, but may be distracted by trying to “complete the 24″. That said, he’s gone 6/0/0 with vampires, so expect him to be at least near the top of the rankings.
GSN bookie tips: top 3

Sandwich
Which version of Sandwich will we see? The one who took a very close 3rd in a strong Carrot Crunch? Or the one who took high elves to the WH40K tables of NAFC? Will he even decide on which race he’s taking? Who knows? Certainly not him…
GSN bookie tips: will be close to winning something, though could be the Spoon

Richard_Freed
Will be bringing skaven. Will be overly protective of gutter runner #11. Will cause the odd upset, will be upset.
GSN bookie tips: Arcani Spark with be killed, again

Bsking
Has a solid record with all 5 races he’s played, so could be a dark horse.
GSN bookie tips: expect him in the top 10

TheDoc
Is bringing lizardmen, because he “doesn’t know how to play them”. This is the man who reached the league final with season 1 necromantic, and is still going strong with season 1 vampires. Will be in the mix come game 6.
GSN bookie tips: would be surprised if he finishes outside the top 5

JoJo
A new NAF coach. Sounds like a precocious pop princess, but has formed a fearsome reputation in the local league for his fouling. Will he overcome these tactics and aim to get some decent results? The rumours of a nurgle team would suggest not…
GSN bookie tips: is there a prize for most players sent off? If so, this one is nailed on

Rich
Not much information could be found out about Rich. We here at GSN reckon he could do well, if he brings a proper team, rather than the humans and nurgle he’s been seen coaching before.
GSN bookie tips: a dark horse for being a dark horse

nonumber
A coach of sporadic form – has some decent finishes mixed up with some wooden spoon efforts. He does usually seem to be in the mix for most casualties though…
GSN bookie tips: will be close to winning the Most Casualties award

greymurphy42
The world’s 25th best Underworld coach. Will he bring them, or give another race a look-in?
GSN bookie tips: will definitely be in the top 25 here too

Myrmedon
Has previously been seen at 3 tournaments, with a whopping 7 year gap between first and second. Having coached Chaos Dwarves and Lizardmen, seems to favour the stronger races. Seems to be reliant on Hawk & scs.sam bringing him, so should get an award for that if nothing else.
GSN bookie tips: I wouldn’t travel with those two if I could possibly help it…

Mattedge666
Started playing at the age of 14 but has had huge break from the game until 2 years ago. Only one tournament to his name, a decent showing with Wood Elves at Bunkerbowl with some excellent wins (including 4-0 over Hawk… it was like slapping a child). Has publicly announced his intentions to bring orcs – he plays these in a league so it’s practically easy mode. Will be looking for a top 10 finish.
GSN bookie tips: will finish 11th

DirtyNic
Another of the new local league coaches, Nic has an amazing record at taking decent teams and underperforming. He could surprise everyone – including himself – by getting a mid-table finish.
GSN bookie tips: middle of the pack

Grantbotting
Started off coaching orcs, before moving to lizardmen about a year ago. Will he bring a surprise new race? Or give TheDoc a run for best lizard coach?
GSN bookie tips: will cause some damage with either of those races

Shaunbotting
Has a spectacularly bad record at tournament games, though not helped by picking some of the worst races available. Could this be the tournament where he gets a positive record? Depends on what he brings…
GSN bookie tips: never underestimate a man who takes ogres and nurgle to tournaments

David Baker
Another new coach that the goblins could find nothing about.
GSN bookie tips: a dead-cert for 8th place

Callum Mac
Another local coach new to NAF. Runs a mean chaos team, and gets as angry as his players when things don’t work. Which, being chaos, is obviously much more frequently than he’d like.
GSN bookie tips: expect some dice-throwing to rival Hawk

DeathJester
A mixed bag of results – 80+ games, including an appearance at NAF World Cup 07, and most of his 6 races taken are hovering around the 150 mark. Coaches a brutal undead team in the local league; if he brings them along expect the other league players to try rigging the draw to avoid him.
GSN bookie tips: top 10

The following coaches have also announced a possibility of showing up at the event:

headstrong
A man in form, winning the recent Welsh Open in his last tournament – with the Chaos Dwarves he’s threatened to bring here. Can he make it 2 (attended) tournament wins in a row? If he shows up for what would be his 100th tournament match, the bookies will install him as firm favourite.
GSN bookie tips: winner, if he shows up

scs.sam
Has overcome his emo fetish to become primarily an undead coach, with a solid record. Jokey all-snotling rosters aside. Is trying to become a proper power-gamer by adjusting to the rulespack, threatening to bring a guard-heavy dwarf roster to win overall, but the bookies reckon he’ll end up a little short
GSN bookie tips: geddit?? short! Ah… forget it. Won’t win, but will cause a lot of casualties

weemanbiggins
As organiser, he may be needed to step in if there’s an emergency. If that happens, expect him to be a fine upstanding commissioner, and rig the draw so he can win a prize or two.
GSN bookie tips: definitely, never bet against the organiser

Despite rumour to the contrary, I only have two teams at 200+ NAF ranking and yes, neither will be attending at the weekend.

17 of the 24 gone I plan to make it 18 here and 19 at ARBBL the week after.

I have Khemri, Lizardmen, Nurgle, Slann, Underworld and two stunty teams Goblin and Ogre to go.

I plan to take Lizard's to the NAF championship, Slann to ARBBL (depending on borrowing a team) and the two stunty teams later in the year.

So a choice of Khemri, Nurgle and Underworld for the weekend.

Not the most competitive so an unlikely winner. But who would have thought I would win WISB III with Vamp's, certainly not me.

Great pun but those Gobling mates of yours didn't go far enough north because if they did they would have heard of Brewerz Bowl II (the results of which are like a missing Dr Who episode). I won it 5-0-1 and Andy was fourth.

In fact you have his team all wrong I predict two top 5 places for us because we are massive powergamers.

Also yes Merman (myrmedon )as he prefers to be called is reliant on ourselves to come as is Greymurphy42 (my Brother). As such we shall all be coming down together as a bit of a posse perhaps known as 'The Clacton Massive'.

Word Blood.

I really like the "International Man of Mystery" vibe here, and I'm torn between elaborating on myself, or cultivating this image. I might even turn up in a mask...

What I will say, is that I'm taking these Skaven:

Those goblins are scared of heading too far north - its grim up there. To be honest, Cambridge(shire) is pretty much the north as far as they (and I) are concerned.
I can see why those "results" would have been suppressed.
Hawk wrote:He was Wood Elves..... I was HALFLINGS! :o
OK, so 4-0 was a bad result for him then. I mean, no-one ever puts that many or more past you when you're playing a "proper" race...

OK, we'll be looking for a masked man playing skaven. Like the team by the way, them 2nd ed rats are way cool.
Expect people to have great fun trying to kill them all :P
