I've loved reading all of these.

My vampire team was fun in my league. All the Vampires were named after actors that played Dracula in films, so Christopher Lee, Bella Lugosi, Frank Langella, Richard Roxburgh and Gerrard Butler.

Then the Thralls were named after actors that played other, non-Dracula, vampires. Wesley Snipes,from Blade. James Masters, from Buffy. Kate Beckinsale, Underworld??. there were loads more I can't remember, cos they died in droves!!

Good Topic. Sometimes hard to come up with decent names. I try my best to come up with NFL names, I dig the fluff. So here's what I've got:

I generally go with what other people do, Warhammer location & a proper NFL team.

The Loren Rangers (Wood Elves) - Basic and simple, but I based all my player names on Fantasy writers that I have read.

Temper Bay Marauders (Orc) - Thought this was fitting for an Orc team.

Altdorf Academical or Altdorf Albion (Human) - I use Cambridge Academical for all my fantasy football teams so just changed the location to suite.

Riverside Rainbows (Halfling) - Brought some Halflings off a bloke at the club and down the middle of all the models was a painting rainbow strip.

Osterwald Ravens (Human) - Again following the Warhammer theme. A name I will take in our league at some point. Very pleased with this name as it rolls nicely off the tongue.

Just some of the team names I have come up with over the years. Not many but enough for me to create a wide world of background and history to.

I try to think of a colour scheme and something about the race that might sound good to me, Ill google some warhammer lore for locations or something else that stands out like unit names etc.

Pearls and Cartridges (amazon, name taken from a swedish comicbook about noteworthy women in history)
Pulsar Stars (Slann, space theme)
Flora Fatalis (Dark elf with players named after various poisonous plants)
Killabots (Khemri made from converted necron models)

I've had a mixed approach to my teams depending on what takes my fancy. Most recent have been:

Slann: Ixtachan Jumpstarts
Necromantic: The Graveyard Shift
Skaven: Manic Street Creepers

I like to keep them sportesque, but I think I prefer American Football style names to UK football clubs as they're a bit more interesting

High Elves: New Elveland Paladins (Blue, Red, Silver)
Humans: Albion Falcons (Red/Black/White)
Orcs: Orkland Raiders (Silver, Black)
Chaos: Pits-burgh Reavers (Black, Gold, splatters of blood)
Lizards: Arid Zone Cobras (Gold, Blue, White)
Dwarves: New Port Giants (Blue, White, Red)
Dark Elves: Darklance Cowlboys (Purple, Black, White)
Skaven: Sub Diego Tunnelers (Brown, Green)
