BLOCK AROUND THE CLOCK III
11 games in 24 hours
Its back, it's a shameful Cut and Paste job, and yes, we are going to run Block Around The Clock AGAIN…. (Even though it made me go mad last time!)
OH YES that’s another 11 games over 24 hours at TV110.
We are in negotiations for this years venue, and full details will be forthcoming once we let tickets go on sale around the end of January(Edit: DONE!). Fingers crossed this year may not have the same cap on numbers as the last two times, so even more of us could suffer the pain!
All games will be NAF ranked.
Entry Fee and How to Pay
TICKETS ARE NOW ON SALE!
No cap on numbers, £15 includes free tea and coffee through the night and a stack of pizza's to feed you.
Payment of £15 can be sent via Paypal to geordiebowl@yahoo.co.uk. Pay on the day can be arranged by PM'ing me. Cash in hand at any tournaments is also acceptable.
An up to date 'paid' and 'interested' list will be kept at the bottom of this post.
How To Get There
The announcement you've all been waiting for! This year, we've been performing lots of round the back and under the leg handshakes in the North East and have managed to arrange the Masonic Lodge in Hartlepool of MonkeyBowl fame for the BATC III arena. I'm sure everyone who has been there will all agree what a great venue this is.
There are direct train links from Kings Cross, York and Newcastle to Hartlepool, and lifts to and from Hartlepool station and the venue are easily arranged for participants. For those driving there should be adequate free parking available.
The venue address for those with Satnavs is:
Masonic Hall
Raby Road
Hartlepool
TS24 8AH
Things To Bring With You
Your painted team.
Your Blood Bowl board
Dice.
Templates.
Block Around The Clock Rules
Block Around The Clock will be using the CRP / LRB 6.0 rules. The 3 new teams (Slann, Underworld and Chaos Pact) will be allowed.
The Illegal Procedure will not be enforced.
In order to play all 11 games in 24 hours we will be playing 2 hour games. I will call games if they run over the 2 hours. Regular time updates will be given and I ask that you try to play your game in your 2 hours.
We will be using the standard "Resurrection" rules: teams remain identical from game to game, with casualties, winnings, fan factor rolls etc. not carrying forward.
Undead or Nurgle teams may not keep 'raised' players from game to game.
Team Selection
Coaches may spend up to 1,100,000 gc on their teams.
Coaches may not include Star Players.
An exception to this rule is Halfling, Goblin, Ogre and Underworld teams, who may hire up to two Star Players.
No other Inducements are allowed, except for Goblins who can roster bribes, and Galflings who can roster a master chef.
If a coach spends less than the 1.1m he will not be entitled to Inducements on a game by game basis.
Skills
Each team is allowed ONE Double skill and 5 Single Skills.
You may only give two 2 copies of any skill this way.
Games and Scoring
All games for Block Around The Clock will be pre-drawn. The format will be the same as last year, where the pre-drawn fixture list contains only numbers, and then coaches will each select a number randomly at registration to match to the corresponding fixture list.
You must play your games in the order set out in draw.
Points are scored as follows:
2 points for a win.
1 points for a draw.
0 points for a loss.
Tiebreaker for the winner of the tournament is combined TD difference and CAS difference, TDs scored, CAS inflicted, opponent score and alphabetical order of name.
An inflicted CAS is one caused by blocking, crowd pushes, fouls, secret weapons, stabs.
Schedule
Saturday
12.00-12.30 – Registration
12.30-13.00 - DRAW
13.00-15.15 - Game 1
15.15-17.30 - Game 2
17.30-19.45 - Game 3
...and so on.
If you finish your game early feel free to play ahead with agreement of their opponent. Everyone was superb last year in playing in a respectful and timely manner and we had no issues with time management at all, which is a credit to the sixteen players last year. We expect no problems whatsoever this year again.
Prizes
We hope Gaspez will continue to sponsor BATC III.
There will also be trophies for:-
Winner
2nd place
3rd place
Wooden Spoon
Hope to see you there!

Star Wars references are far too obvious and tip our already geeky gathering over the edge...

Where in the UK will this be held? I'm a sucker for punishment so if it's not too far may well be interested.

Re: Block Around The Clock III - Bank Holiday Weekend (May 4
As hinted in the first post we haven't finalised the destination yet. In negotiations with a couple of places, and full details will be posted around the end of January when tickets go on sale.
- I can confirm it will be in the North East of England.
- I can confirm it will be nearby a major train station
- I can confirm I will be able to taxi people from local major towns bus or train stations.
