Re: The Great Roster Cull

I've thought of a possible way to reconstitute the BBRC to avoid the partisanship of the former body: Advocates! (This is just brain-storming, so don't get too crazy, folks....)

It is the advocates job to get the best for his/her represented race and act as a check on the others.... The divisions might be quite tricky... not thinking that 24 committee members would be a good idea.... What might work...?

Undead (Necros, Undead, Khemri, Vampires)
Elves, etc. (Wood, Dark, High, Pro, Slann, Skaven)
Tier 3 (Ogre, Goblin, Halfling, Underworld)
Human (Human, Amazon, Norse)
Chaos (Chaos, Nurgle, Pact)
Heavy Armor (Dwarf, Chaos Dwarf, Orc, Lizardmen)

Something like that....

Feel free to constructively reassess....

I'd prefer anti-advocates. Put Heff on [lego] Dwarf duty, Chance on Woodies, Darkson on Khorne Daemons... and force the rest of the committee to try and stop them tearing the rosters a new one :orc:

Snakemen? That sounds pretty cool. The question is, do you give them legs?

I like the spam M access, it gives them character, but S access lineman only lends itself to one thing - the collection of power skills - and dropping it would (I believe) encourage more creative mutation selection.
I could live with that, especially if the Quorn roster had it removed ('cos it's stoopid).

CHEEZY RICE ON AN ELFIN POGO STICK, Shteve0, you had to open the door for someone to bring that moldering rot of putrid bullspit back into the light of day again.... Good intentions, and I agree with the feeling... but... I thought they were gone for good! Oh, and I'd nerf the Necro team to. Bar Woodies, they're the biggest Timmy team going. Even mediocre coaches have good records with them.

The removal of S access bar the big guys could work, if you don't give the team any more S access.
With 2 S access they would still be better in short and long term then they are now (2 guards + the BG + any doubles).

With no skill access, they would be a team that has a high power in the short-medium term but declines in the very long.
It changes a lot. I don't think it would be broken that way (with no blitzers I mean), but I wouldn't like it more.
As I said I think its playstyle would be more brainless, all focused on the removal of players.

The question is: what a human/Dark Elf/hybrid team can do against 3 ST5/MClaw/Tentacles/SF guys?
Answer: probably die imho.

The thought of having advocates for a set of like races will cover the need for "anti-advocacy".... Pitifully I don't see the defining schism of losing to avoidance teams vs grind/kill-'em-all as resolvable within the system... so maybe the advocates could play politic and trade favors in true Capital Hill style.... Just a thought....

I'm not advocating the M on normal rolls for BGs,.

Note a double barrelled flame thrower is just a flawed concept.

Hi Chris,
Congrats on the painted Bretonnians. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy watching Diggers reaction to you bringing them up.
Cheers

I don't understand why teams should be removed or changed if there is not a serious issue with them balance wise. Isn't it better to have more choices for leagues and tournaments?

Seriously, friend, what you and ditto must consider (or not, meh, it's your choice) is that you are on a Cull thread and other people have a different "understanding"....

Anywho... if we ever have a non-constructive, opinion-to-the-contrary, poll... we'll ink in a couple of unconditional and inexplicable "no's"....
