I'm more inclined to agre with the 5/3/3/8 stat line. Although to be honest if we are really talking here it is more like 4/4/3/8. Organtuan snapped my cousin's arm while stationed in the Phillipines. He took out the trash and it was in the dumpster eating "leftovers". When he lifted the dumpster lid ... he scared it ... he said it just reached up and casually snapped his arm with one hand like you would a brittle twig and then ran off. However I'm not demanding reality in an roster ... just saying ... these guys are strong and slow.Corvidius wrote:The only change I'd make would be 5 3 3 8 on The 'Tan. 4 3 3 9 just doesn't fit the model. I know Orang's aren't the quickest but looking at them side by side with the Gorillas it doesn't look like they are better armoured.
Otherwise, perfect.

The Apes SHOULD get +1 picking up and handing off, without really giving them a huge passing game. That's what Extra Arms gives them. It isn't like they have 4 arms, think of it like their 2 arms just have a little something extra when compared to Humans.Norse wrote:sorry, I'm a WYSIWYG gamer.. I don't see a justfication for extra arms in any way...
if you want to mimic the benfits of the skill on an ape time, whu not just have a new skill called prehensile feet...?

Why add a skill that does the exact same thing as Extra Arms?
I like this roster very much. Might not change much before using it at next year's 3DBrawl tournament! Well done sir!

Make folks like Norse happy. Give them Prehensile Feet instead as it is what you are trying to convey.
"New" skill:
Prehensile Feet (Physical): Go read the skill description for Extra Arms.
In the days of new rosters the other way this was done was to show the skill like this in the stat line
Prehensile Feet (Extra Arms), etc. for other skills

Lol, ok. One more suggestion on that front, then I'll leave it alone: I remember there used to be a kind of double headed 'Claws/Fangs' skill. How about considering "Extra Hands" and "Extra Arms" to be the same skill?
We'd then get to something like:
0-16 Gibbon 6337 extra hands G/ASP 50k
0-2 Orangutan 5338 extra hands, strong arm, big hand GP/AS 70k
0-2 Chimpanzee 7337 extra hands, fend GA/SP 80k
0-4 Gorilla 5428 extra hands, grab, wild animal GS/AP 80k
0-1 Silverback 5519 loner, extra hands, grab, mighty blow, wild animal S/GAP 140k
Rerolls 60k
Is that better?

Anyone else thinking of making one of these bruisers your ballcarrier? They pick up for a 3+ and can get Sure Hands!Shteve0 wrote:0-4 Gorilla 5428 extra hands, grab, wild animal GS/AP 80k
Though I'd have a hard time not making all 4 of them go Block, Mighty Blow, Tackle, Pile On!

With wild animal? And where's your guard?
I reckon there are loads of builds you could go down with this team. Wild animal plays nice with the starting grab (as well as tackle and guard, since you keep TZs), but you'll really need to manage it. Do you play a passing build or a running build? Are chimps catchers, safetys or ball hunters? How many WA players to start, and how do you mitigate it? Are the gorillas cage corners, hitters or markers, (or, yes, ball carriers)?
Anyway, that's my thinking. Great to get feedback on the roster, and delighted you and Tom seem to like it - they're your team, after all!

Re: APES of WRATH - by 3DB, Zlurpcast and Impact!
I'll just put Guard on the others and maybe the first Chimp lino that doubles!
Def a running team for me, though I count the Orang's passes as long handoffs as TZR used to say.
The Chimps do make natural runners - but where is your Chimp Lino? I think the GIbbons statline should be the Chimp Lino and then make a Stunty-type player for the Gibbon.
And do we get crazy and make a different statline for the Gorilla Blitzer as opposed to the Gorilla Blocker? They are two separate minis of course.
Come on Shteve-O - two more statlines, you can do it!

Re: APES of WRATH - by 3DB, Zlurpcast and Impact!
Oh, the chimps are your linemen and the gibbon are stunty? Apologies, I didn't realise. In someway, I think that actually makes things easier, since I agree the Chimps could easily just take the Gibbon roster, with a pretty straightforward goblin hybrid swapped in. I think - if it were me - I'd leave it at 0-4 gorillas, since all the rostered players at the moment have purely racial traits (ie no positional skills), like they've just come out of the bush/jungle/zoo.
So, here you go: a roster with goblin gibbons (gobbons? gibblins?) and a distinctly peckish silverback..

Don't like the silverback. WA and always hungry. Need a 4 to throw at all (WA) and then will eat on a 1. Will never be tried. Silverback needs Jugs and frenzy in my view, big intimidating charges.

Very, very good point. I'd forgotten the 4+ implication.
I left off both Juggernaut and frenzy since all other skills on the other players (bar WA) relate to hands or, in the case of Grab, things you do with your hands. Plus, since a Silverback is essentially a big Gorilla, that rules out Frenzy (ever).
Open question: how would you do the Silverback? Would a 5519 EH, WA, MB, TTM, Loner, Grab player at 140k do the job?
Just a thought. How about a non dodging stunty? So the Gibbon at 6237 EH, stunty, fend, right stuff A/GSP 50k, for example?
