Holy crap that was fast! I'm hoping to have one set of Apes painted up for GenCon next week but no way will they look better than that Chimp!

Also, Apes have shipped to Kickstarter pledgers and we got them in Iowa yesterday! Woo hoo!

Working as fast as I can to get everything done that needs to get done and get these in the store as well. Will post announcement of them being in the store. With the addition of the Silverback ... we can also offer a Siriginit team using only Ape miniatures. Should be pretty cool.

Here is the painted images of the miniatures

I am! They are amazing - it is surreal to see my sketches in painted 3D glory! I wish I had one more week to paint up an entire team for GenCon!

At first I wasn't a big fan of this idea. While fun, it just didn't seem to me like the models could come together as a coherent 'team'.

But after seeing the models built and painted? I am happy to admit that I was wrong. Congrats on all of y'alls hard work coming to fruition! Maybe my goblins will have the pleasure of chainsawing your gibbon's head off one day...

Since the minis look awesome, I'm going to attempt to surf the imminent wave of interest with another attempt at a roster

0-16 Gibbon 6337 extra arms G/ASP 50k
0-2 Orangutan 4339 extra arms, strong arm, big hand GP/AS 70k
0-4 Chimpanzee 7337 extra arms, fend GA/SP 80k
0-4 Gorilla 5428 extra arms, grab, wild animal GS/AP 80k
0-1 Silverback 5519 loner, extra arms, grab, mighty blow, wild animal S/GAP 140k
Rerolls 60k

Come on, who wouldn't want to play that team?

That is an interesting team. On the surface ... I'm not see an immediate problem with it.

Question, why does the orangutan have AV9? Is it because he's my favorite? Cus' I certainly don't want to hit him.

Yikes - thanks Tom. Considering the source, I'm going to take that as an indicator of being at least in the right ballpark. Certainly I'm aiming T1.5, and your Slann "Leap/Jump/Legs" theme very much influenced my thinking here.

Well, actually, a few reasons:

1 - the 3DB guys gave the 'tan a 3339 statline, and I was trying to stay close to that

2 - costing tradeoffs. Working up from a gibbon and applying the -MA=+AV rule, this is where I got to.

3 - playstyle. Bearing in mind that you want people to take them, and that they're unreliable (or at least suboptimal) until you can stack a skill or two on there, making them fragile seemed inappropriate

4 - the librarian made me do it

************************************************************

EDIT: Question here: should the chimps be 0-2? I think they maybe detract from the gibbons as they are.

The only change I'd make would be 5 3 3 8 on The 'Tan. 4 3 3 9 just doesn't fit the model. I know Orang's aren't the quickest but looking at them side by side with the Gorillas it doesn't look like they are better armoured.

Otherwise, perfect. :)

sorry, I'm a WYSIWYG gamer.. I don't see a justfication for extra arms in any way...

if you want to mimic the benfits of the skill on an ape time, whu not just have a new skill called prehensile feet...?
